Worth Living For episodes

  • God is good.
We throw the statement around sometimes with no explanation, at least I've done so many times. In this episode I really wanted to explain why it's true for me.

  • People aren't perfect.

During this episode I try to unpack the thought around, people aren't perfect. The idea that when it comes to you and me, we should always take our thoughts to God, so they are definitely rooted in scripture, so we don't make assumptions about people, we don't even know.
I have failed this in the past and present, so I talk about thosr failures as well.

  • How to love yourself?
Awhile back I had Ben S Dixon on an episode and he said something, that's stuck in my mind ever since. He said "most people do love themselves, they shower, they eat breakfast, have lunch and dinner. Brush their teeth and wear deodorant."
I think we've struggled with understanding the concept of self love. So that's why see people doing crazy things, to figure out a different way, to show people that they do.
I tried my best to talk about this topic, hopefully it helps.

  • People pleasing & Perfection.

I don't want to give to much away in the description, I think it's better to hear what I had to say. Not life altering encouragement just an average bloke, sharing something I feel is important.

  • Remember your Testimony!
I have thought a lot about this over the last few weeks. It hasn't kept me up at night, but it's definitely caused a lot of reflection, reflecting on how good God is, what his done and continues to do in my life.
At the end of the day, I'm not important, I'm not the one to be praised or celebrated. Because God is the one who's done everything good and praise worthy, in my life.
I think when we forget our testimony, that's when we judge other people the most. When we forget our testimony, we forget what God brought us out of.

  • Acceptable behaviour becomes Acceptable sin.

What impact did the covid 19 pandemic have on faith, The church and the behaviour we accept? I try to answer this question based on my experience, and the things I've noticed. You don't have to agree, that's ok, and I would much rather you ask yourself what happen anyway.

    with love.

  • Love God and love Other people - with Isaiah from Metal 777
Between the ages of 14-15 I wrote this, looking back at an old google document I had, this convicted me, "I believe that one of the best ways to overcome sin is with love, not any love that the world can provide, but a deep love from God that fills us with love for God and others. (Isaiah) The Bible says this, “Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins.”- 1 Peter 4:8 and, “Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God.” - 1 John 4:7"

  • A moment of Clarity with Luke
An episode about mental health, making sure you call a friend, find some accountability partners, who can pray for you and walk with you, during the difficult moments, and also walk with you on your faith journey.
Alot to unpack during this episode, but I'm very thankful to have had my best friend Luke to help.

  • Existing Apart: Helping without being asked
This will hopefully be an interesting episode where I talk about, pulling your weight and truly contributing to your marriage. By doing things without having to be asked, or thanked because that's not the reason why you should help.
Marriage is a partnership whereby both people put effort into the relationship.

  • The Winepress of Doubt with Zach Mitchell

God tells us to have faith and trust in him, to allow him to take every thought captive so we don't become the prisoner, without hope. But so often doubt creeps in and knee caps, the hope we find in God.

Speaking lies that aren't true, to cloud the faith and the work God is doing inside of us. On this episode Zach and I unpack a lot, and also share some personal stories of times, where we doubted but eventually trusted God and believed.

I think creative people are their own worst critic, so we talked about that as well.

    Much love, Shaun
