    “Building a new website can feel really vulnerable; we’re putting ourselves out there, people are reading about us at 2 o’clock in the morning and making decisions about whether they want to work with us, and that’s big. It’s hard finding clarity on the services, figuring out the design feel we want, the messaging… all of these different pieces… it’s easy for people to get stuck along the way and I wanted to bring that kind of energy, of collaborative, supportive care to help web design become a different kind of experience.”

  • Is Blogging Dead? | Salt Marketing

    We hear a lot of entrepreneurs say “I know I should start a blog, but….” I don’t have time, I don’t have the energy, it sounds like too much work, I don’t know what to write about…” and with the huge variety of other content mediums now available, a blog can seem like an endless task for which you might never see the ROI you’re seeking. This led us to ask the question: Is Blogging Dead? Today, Salt Marketing’s Lead Content Strategist Taylor Perry helps guide you in discovering if a blog should play a role in your marketing strategy.

    You’ll learn:

    • If you’ll get the ROI you seek from your blogging efforts;
  • How a blog can support your goals for growth and engaging your audience;
  • What to write about – and how much to write;
  • PLUS get inspired with tips on how to find great ideas that build your authority
  • Articles Are Vital to Content Marketing Success

    The digital landscape has evolved over time, and will continue to. Google absolutely loves content, and is constantly crawling websites to see what they are putting out there. New marketing channels and new strategies have emerged, but blogging still holds significant value. It is very much alive and well! This is an excellent way to make sure your brand is getting the visibility it needs to stay relevant and be seen by your target audience.

    You’ll notice that our own blog posts are going to vary on the word count, and it’s not something we want to obsess over, as long as you’re answering the question or topic that the blog post is about. This is a concept we’ve talked about before and I know we’ll talk about again, but there’s a book called “they ask, you answer” that dives into wondering what your customers are asking. You can educate and empower your clients with open and honest content in the form of blog posts. Sometimes that means you need to provide a lot more information to get to the heart of the question, but sometimes it can be answered rather simply. It will vary from piece to piece, but if you have your clients in mind when you’re crafting this content, I don’t think you need to stress about counting words.

  • How SEO & AI Are Transforming Small Business | Salt Marketing

    Remember when mastering search engine optimization was relatively straightforward? You just needed to create helpful content, target specific keywords, earn backlinks from reputable sources, and voilà, new clients would flock to your website! But times have changed, and now artificial intelligence has taken the stage, impacting everything, including SEO. We’re at starting line of a whole new search engine game, where AI is assisting and focusing intensely on user intent. The exciting part is that this shift is creating fantastic opportunities for small businesses in the health and wellness industry, to thrive if they can adapt and embrace these changes correctly. SEO and Lead Gen Strategist, Chrissy Oliverson is here to guide us through making the most of this evolving landscape.

    You’ll learn about:

    • How AI has impacted the SEO landscape for small businesses
  • Ethical considerations that small businesses should be aware of when incorporating AI into their SEO strategies
  • How you can use AI to target your ideal audience through local search
  • What you can do to get started now, even without extensive resources or technical expertise
  • SEO and AI for Health and Wellness

    When the concept of SEO first started, it was of course in reaction to learning that Google had robots crawling our website content in an effort to understand which sites were the best sources of information for their searchers. What happened very early on was this quick burst of people trying to cheat the system by doing things like keyword stuffing and other “black hat” practices. But the way AI works, is that the longer it exists, the smarter it gets. The more information you feed it, the information it has to run its calculations and accomplish its task. We are a good 10+ years into Google having their algorithms, and with how vast the internet is, you can only imagine the amount of data being processed and stored these days. All of that data being gathered by Google’s (and other search engines) AI tools is leveraged and used as a way to meet their user’s needs. That is the #1 goal: to meet the needs of the searcher as quickly and precisely as possible.

    Precision is what it’s all about… being able to precisely target your ideal customer with the right copy, image, video, etc is what everyone is chasing! With the help of AI, health and wellness businesses can now reach a level of personalization that was nearly impossible before. We have so much information at our fingertips, and tools that are only getting smarter by the day… small businesses would do very well to keep their ear to the ground and take advantage of this opportunity.

    AI can assist health and wellness practitioners in targeting their ideal audience through local search by analyzing local search patterns and user behavior. AI algorithms can identify relevant keywords, phrases, and location-specific information that can improve the visibility of practitioners’ websites in local search results. AI-powered analytics platforms can also give us great insights into the preferences, demographics, and search behaviors of your local audience. And that helps us better understand the target audience, segment them based on various criteria, and tailor our marketing to that understanding.

  • Network Alliances to Grow Your Practice: Laura Dantoni of Gate City Health | Salt Marketing

    Going it alone in health and wellness is a tough road. While you may have a network of industry contacts, forming network alliances to grow your practice  can provide a wealth of resources and benefits. When you can lean in to the training and tools an alliance can provide, it can free you up to focus on the work. Joining us today to help us understand the benefits of a community that provides a sustainable operational model is Laura Dantoni, Executive Director of Greensboro, North Carolina’s Gate City Health.

    Here, she shares:

    • That the reasons you get into health and wellness aren’t what will help your business grow;
  • What to look for in a professional alliance and how to find the right one for you;
  • The five essential principles that guide Gate City Health’s holistic practice; and
  • How Gate City Health has thrived in areas such as patient growth, retention, operational efficiency, and cash flow due to their alliance with MaxLiving
  • Forming An Alliance to Grow Your Practice

    Laura is the executive director and owner of Gate City Health, along with her husband, Dr. Preston Danton. She graduated from Florida College of Integrative Medicine with a bachelor’s degree in professional health studies and a master’s degree in Oriental medicine. Laura and her husband have taken a really unique and holistic approach to chiropractic. They also recently forged an alliance with a network of other chiropractors, and that Alliance has provided them with the resources and support to market their holistic approach to include nutrition, detoxification, exercise, and maintaining a positive mind space for healing.

    It’s a really unique thing where you can come here and you can get everything you need. You can buy your supplements, you can have a nutrition consultation, you can come for a workshop about mindset. You can learn about detox, and then go ahead and get your chiropractic adjustment, get your power turned on so that your body starts healing on its own. Everything that you’re doing is right here in the office, rather than I have to go to Vitamin shop to pick up my protein powder. I need to go to the gym to do a workout. Everything is here.

    And now, Gate City Health has forged an alliance with Max Living. I don’t have enough good things to say about Max Living. Max Living has a network of chiropractors all over the United States. We even have some practices in Canada, Puerto Rico. It’s impacted us in such a positive way because it is a large group of like-minded people on a shared mission to change the healthcare system here in America. That can be so daunting. You can feel, if you’re part of this holistic wellness world, especially in America over the past three years, it can feel quite lonely at times.

    • What inspired her when she first got started – and how that has changed
  • How she knew she needed to refocus her energy
  • The things she did to get her business back on track
  • The role a good brand story can play in your company’s growth
  • How understanding the customer journey changed her perspective
  • How To Get Your Groove Back

    “Paleo Scaleo is a health and wellness food blog, and it actually started back in 2015. We had a  house fire, and we were forced to move out of our house for 11 months while they were reconstructing everything. And a lot of good things came out of that; I just started cooking while we were in our rental and kind of playing around in the kitchen.

    And some of the recipes I was making, I said, “I really wanna write this down.” I want to have this again so that I can make it again, because everyone’s really enjoying what I’m making. So I did a little research and I figured out how to start a blog.

    I didn’t know what I was doing. I learned the website and you feel like you’re making progress throughout all those steps because even if it’s not growing, you’re learning, right? For me, I was learning how to build the site and learning how to put all these parts and pieces together.

    And then got to this point where it kind of… plateaued. And I’m like, I want to do more. I want to go farther, but I don’t know what to do next.  I don’t know how to get to the next step.”Listen to the full episode below to hear how Jessica got inspired to get her business back on track!

  • How to Find The Right Agency For You | Salt Marketing

    Hiring a marketing agency can save you money, time, and lead to success by giving you access to professionals who know the industry inside and out. Rather than having to hire an in-house team of marketers with different skills, an agency can provide all of these services as part of their package. On top of that, agencies have experience with multiple clients and industries so they are more likely to come up with innovative solutions that could give your business an edge over the competition. So today on Worth Your Salt, we’re talking about the do’s and don’t of hiring a marketing agency.

    You’ll learn about:

    • What should you look for
  • How to make sure your budget is well-spent
  • Why communication is key when it comes to success
  • Which outsourced work will pay dividends long after the agency is gone
  • Finding The Right Marketing Agency

    Hiring a professional marketer can be overwhelming and costly. But there are ways to make sure you select the right team for your business, like,  taking the time to research and vet potential agencies in order to get the most bang for your buck. So Jake, what kind of things should people be looking for in their research in order to make sure there’s no money wasted?

    First, ask yourself what problems you need solved and what goals you want to accomplish with your marketing strategy. Once you have this list of objectives, you can start looking for an agency that specializes in those areas. You’ll also want to take the time to look at their past work and client reviews—this will help give you a better idea of what to expect from them.

    Knowing the problems you want to solve and the goals you’d like to achieve will help ensure that an agency is a good fit for your business. It’s important to be clear about what you need so that they can offer solutions tailored to your specific situation, rather than just trying to apply a one-size-fits-all approach – which can easily lead to money going down the drain.

    Additionally, having a list of objectives will also give the agency an idea of how much time and resources it will take to achieve those goals, which can be used in developing their pricing structure. It’s important to remember that any marketing strategy should be tailored to your specific business needs so that you get the best possible results from your investment.

    Know Your Marketing Agency Options

    Another common challenge with hiring a marketing agency is that there are many different options available, from large full-service agencies to individual contractors with specific skillsets. It can be difficult to determine who has the best combination of experience, know-how, and cost for your needs. Additionally, some agencies may use tactics that look good on paper but don’t actually give results in practice, leaving you with empty promises and wasted money.

    The key to successful marketing is paying attention to the details. It’s important to research and understand what different agencies are offering, as well as which areas of expertise each agency specializes in. This helps you ensure that you’re selecting an agency with the right skillset for your business and investing in the right services. Additionally, don’t be afraid to ask questions about a potential agency’s track record or other implementation details so you can make a more informed decision. Taking the time to do your due diligence can save you money and headaches in the long run.

    It’s important to find an agency that will make good on their promises, as it can be expensive and time-consuming to switch providers if you find out too late that your current provider isn’t meeting your needs. Having a reliable partner is especially important for small businesses, which often have limited resources and need to maximize the impact of their investments.

    Make sure the agency is willing and able to provide regular progress updates throughout your partnership. Consistent communication is key for keeping projects on track and ensuring everyone remains on the same page.
