Did you know that the United States Supreme Court (SCOTUS) receives approximately 7,000-8,000 petitions for a writ of certiorari each term, but only grants and hears oral argument in about 80 cases? Today we are going to discuss the current case of MAHS v. B.L. that was argued before the Supreme Court in April 2021. This case involves a number of constitutional free speech issues including: on-campus v. off-campus student speech, disruptive speech, vulgar speech, and social media speech. The case is specifically compelling to Jolee, as it arises from her alma mater and hometown.
