Happy New Year! Nick, Rei, Eric, and Kurabara are back for a new year to keep talking about WoW! But first they bid farewell to Bobby Kotick who is finally no longer with Activision Blizzard.

Next, Rei gets into what she’s been doing in WoW. She talks about running Mythic+’s and then gets into a discussion about LFR and how she has struggled to get any loot drops in LFR, which is entirely due to the transition away from Personal Loot earlier this expansion. The gang agrees that some change needs to be made to allow for bad luck protection in LFR, but that would seemingly require doctoring the need rolls.

Next, Rei and Eric talk about getting Smolderon down to 1% in their raid and point out that sometimes the raid performs better when certain members are absent. Eric also talks about dying and not being rezzed as a warlock, to which Nick tells him to just use his soulstone on himself.

Next, Kurabara talks about how he hasn’t been feeling well and has not been playing much lately, but he mentions being underwhelmed by the Trading Post reward this month which is a wristwatch transmog. Nick points out that it is probably a lesser reward since the big focus this month will be on people getting the 12-month achievement which grants the Warden armor transmogs.

Next, Nick talks about the 2024 Roadmap Blizzard revealed, which includes the War Within releasing around what looks like September, and a mysterious pirate flag labeled 10.2.6 which Nick posits will be an April Fool’s joke.

In the news, the Swift Windsteed mount is available for free from Prime Gaming, and there is a new Black Market Auction House vendor.

Finally, the gang takes a look back at episode 155 when everyone started working from home.

Nick is back with Eric and Kurabara as Rei is not feeling well (Get better, Rei!) to talk about the latest goings on in World of Warcraft. This week, Eric starts by talking about the Nymue fight and how much healing is required throughout the fight. He also talks about mythic+ and how because it has felt easier this season, it has lead to running more and higher keys to the point that he needs to run lower keys for the wyrm crests for updating his gear. He also talks about getting to max reputation with the Dream Wardens pretty quickly, and this leads to a discussion about reputation and whether the transition to Renown over the last two expansions has been worth it. They also talk about whether Blizzard should have made Zaralek Cavern easier while making the Emerald Dream harder since the Dream will have to be current content until the War Within. They talk about Blizzard’s rapid development pacing throughout Dragonflight.

Kura talks about playing his evoker and not getting invited to all the groups. He also talks about spraining his ankle and having a birthday.

Nick talks about how the Trading Post is dictating his playstyle lately. He mentions that he doesn’t have time to play so he is only playing to complete the monthly rewards. He then talks about the controversy over the Wardens armor that is the 12-month reward for the Trading Post, and how Blizzard will now be rewarding three armor sets instead of just one. Nick also talks about Ion did a community council interview that got aggregated into nonsense and pushed to him on his phone.

In the news, they mention that the Harassment lawsuit against Activision-Blizzard has been settled for $54 million.

Nick, Rei, Eric, and Kurabara are back to talk about what’s been going on in World of Warcraft. But first they talk a little about the just released GTA VI trailer.

Back on topic, Rei talks about running Mythic+ and losing keys to people disconnecting. This leads to a discussion of people faking a disconnection to get out of a key and still to get loot from the run even if they were not there to complete it. Nick suggests some ways that Blizzard could try to mitigate these problems. They also talk about if Mythic+ is easier this season and wonder if they are too easy. Rei also talks about the Superbloom activity and how people keep dying because they are in Warmode.

Eric talks about completing Normal Fyrakk and starting on Heroic Amirdrasill. They talk about the Legendary axe dropping and the crafting mats required to equip it. Eric also talks about running a +20 Blackrook Hold at three in the morning.

Kurabara talks about playing his Evoker and saving his dream seeds for his BIS items. He talks about enjoying the post-raid story and his discovery of rule 34 as it applies to Alexstraza and Ysera despite them being sisters. He also shares an anecdote about finding out his sister’s boyfriend plays WoW.

Nick talks about Season of Discovery launching in Classic and the reception generally being positive since the servers and queues were overwhelmed. They talk about the controversy over the Warlock tanking rune being locked behind the Blackfathom Deeps raid and how Blizzard moved some mobs outside the raid so that was not a problem. Nick still expresses concerns about Classic+ adding too much new content.

In the news, Activision was trying to establish a mobile store on Android, and McFarlane Toys has pre-orders for a new series of Warcraft figures.

Nick, Rei, Eric, and Kurabara are taking a break from defending the Emerald Dream to talk about their experiences in World of Warcraft! First, Rei talks about running mythic +20s, and how for that difficulty you need to know what you’re doing or you’re going to die. She also talks about getting the Crackers pet. Next, Rei talks about people pulling extra because they found out Rei was a girl. She also discusses knowing when people aren’t reading guild chat, and a friend that she had who got banned and finally after much effort got his ban overturned. Rei also talks about watching Grandma78 on twitch to get her camel mount.

Eric, meanwhile, has been having fun with the new content. He’s been enjoying superblooms as they are a good source of experience, gear, and even mounts. They are hard on his graphics card however. He talks about the raid making it up to Fyrakk and the effects of some of the trinkets he has picked up.

Kurabara discusses learning his augmentation rotation, and how to time buffing the raid at the start of the encounter. He also talks about how he’s been working on the story quests in Patch 10.2 and he and Nick discuss the relative ease of getting Pathfinder now.

Nick brings up the 3 day early access drama that the community has been raging against, since Blizzard announced that the Epic edition of The War Within would include 3 days early access to the expansion. Nick talks about the time he had to wait for his Legion collector’s edition to play Legion and also compares this to everyone being hyped for a movie trailer.

They also talk about some interviews that Ion did where he talked about avoiding shrinkflation in the coming expansions. Then, they review everything coming in Patch 10.2.5.

They announce the winner of the Jade, Bright Furseer mount. Congratulations, Sid!

Rei, Eric and Kurabara are back from their epic experience at Blizzcon 2023. Hear about how their experiences with the portal pass talking to developers that they can’t name, as well as encountering members of the community. They talk about their experiences with the Portal Pass and evaluate if it was worth it. They talk about getting into the convention and dealing with the merch line.

Next, they talk about the announcements from the convention itself. They talk about the surprise(?) Phil Spencer appearance. They talk about seeing Chris Metzen back in front of a Blizzcon crowd and go over what he announced. Three new expansions! Everyone is hyped for those. They talk about Holly and her multi-color dreamcoat. They talk about the new cinematic and the return of attention back to the sword in Sithilus. 

They talk about their excitement for Delves and the renewed focus on single player activities. They also talk about Warbands and how they are excited to be able to see all their alts in one place. They talk about the Earthen as an allied race and speculate about the possibility of Nerubians. They talk about the Classic announcement and harp on the words of one developer who sneakily described the Season of Discovery as “classic… plus a whole lot more.”

They also talk about the other announcements including a teaser for the next Diablo IV expansion and updates to season 2. There was also an announcement for Hearthstone Duos in Battlegrounds which Nick is intrigued by. Overwatch got a new character, Mauga, who seems like he should have been voiced by the Rock.

Friends, Blizzcon 2023 is coming up on November 3rd, and Rei, Eric, Kurabara, and Nick are here to talk about all the hype for the show! They begin by talking about Rei, Eric, and Kurabara attending the show and how they are excited to be there and part of the crowd for the first time. Kura in particular is excited to check out the merch store in person. Next, they talk about the changes to Blizzcon since the last one in 2019, as COVID and the legal allegations and the Microsoft purchase have all happened in the interim. They talk about how the convention will be available for free online but the ticket prices were raised significantly. Next, they talk about their expectations for how the Microsoft acquisition will have changed the show. They speculate on whether any games could be announced for Xbox. Nick in particular thinks Hearthstone would work well on console.

Then, they discuss what they are expecting for each of Blizzard’s franchises. They talk about how they doubt 10.3 will be announced. But they all agree there will be a new expansion and Nick talks about how we should be due for some strange leaks soon. They talk about the possibility of a Warcraft Netflix show being announced, and then wonder about the fate of Warcraft Classic. Will Classic+ finally be announced? Next, they discuss Hearthstone and how they already announced the next expansion. They wonder about the upcoming Battleground announcements. They also talk about how Warcraft Rumble will be launching on November 3rd and consider if it is too soon for an expansion for that game.

Next, they talk about Overwatch and the diminishing Overwatch League. They expect a new character and new modes to be announced. The also talk about Diablo IV and debate if it is time for a new expansion or even if it is too soon to announce season 3. They talk about Diablo Immortal getting a new season announcement. They also consider if Heroes of the Storm or Starcraft could get a resurrection thanks to Microsoft. Finally, they ask if the Unannounced Survival Game is ready to be revealed.

This week, Nick, Rei, Eric, and Kura are getting hyped for Patch 10.2 coming on November 7th because they know that soon they will be too hyped for Blizzcon to think about it! But first, Rei talks about playing with people who do not know where to stand and do not admit they do not know where to stand this late in the expansion. She also talks about raiding with slightly less than the number of people required for guild group credit. They also talk about what you should be doing to prepare for raid and the struggles with leadership of the best way to let your team know when they are underprepared. They also discuss that WoWpedia has moved to a new site.

Eric talks about the new difficulties for the Headless Horseman this year and also the new drops including the Arfus pet. He also did the short quest setting up the Amirdrassil raid.

Kura talks about running timewalking to level up characters despite missing a week. They mention that there is no WoD timewalking in this cycle of Turbulent Timewalking. He also talks about getting his 2K rating for M+ dungeons. He also mentions that he has been playing a rogue for the first time in a while. He also shares that he got his payout from the sale of his Activision-Blizzard stock in the acquisition.

Nick talks about whether the Netflix Sandman show might have inspired the Onyx Annulet.

Nick, Rei, and Eric are back while Kura is under the weather to talk about what has been going on in the World of Warcraft! First, Rei talks about helping out a guildie and also helping out a pug and getting a guild donation as a result. She also mentions visiting the barbershop and doing the Eastern Kingdoms Cup. Nick speculates that the Cups could replace Timewalking in the event schedule if they ever decide to break Timewalking out into its own thing.

Nick discusses a leak about how WoW will be moving to a seasonal model with DLC for dungeons and talks about how there are concerns about the forthcoming acquisition, and he is willing to admit this may be problematic in the long run.

Happy Anniversary to us! This week Nick, Rei, Eric, and Kurabara celebrate 10 years of WoW! Talk! by welcoming Harv back to the show to chat about what he's been doing in Hardcore Classic WoW. But first, Rei talks about what she’s been doing in game. Rei talks about doing the Secret Hunting to earn Patty the Alpaca. She also talks about getting the Alliance motorcycle mount from Azeroth Choppers and also getting the Seagull mount via a Time Rift.

Eric meanwhile has been practicing tanking on his guardian druid in normal Aberrus. He is trying to figure out what to main in 10.2.

Kura talks about gearing up his evoker and how he was fixing his stat outlay.

Then Harv returns to talk about his experiences in Classic WoW. He talks about some of the streams he’s seen with all the ways that people have died and also all the ways that people are avoiding death. He talks about using engineering to keep training dummies available to distract mobs, and also how to use the logout-unstuck command to navigate certain spots in hardcore WoW. He also talks about avoiding caves and other strategies not to die. They talk about how the average level of player death in hardcore classic WOW is level 9.

In the news, they talk about the return of the Turbulent Timeways event and the Sandy Shalewing. Nick also talks about how the CMA in the UK looks ready to approve the Microsoft buyout of Activision-Blizzard, so we can expect that to happen in October ahead of Blizzcon.

Nick, Rei, Eric, and Kurabara are back to talk about what they’ve been doing in game and what is coming in the 10.2 announcement! First, Rei talks about people regressing in their raid performance after all this time in Aberrus. They also talk about how they tried to do a few heroic bosses with a 7 man group and how chaotic the puddles were. Rei also talks about meeting people from New Jersey and getting some raid mounts from the timewalking satchels.

Eric talks about pugging and trying to help Kura get his Dracthyr legendary. Eric also talks about switching to his fire mage and how when he goes back to his blood death knight he feels how underpowered that character is. He also mentions running Ulduar Timewalking.

Kurabara talks about running hardcore classic and how he died because an add-on prevented him from stealthing. He also talks about some of the more entertaining deaths he’s seen in hardcore classic, including a large number of elevator deaths in Thunder Bluff. He also mentions getting Warcraft 3 Reforged on sale.

Nick talks about his concerns about Patch 10.2 being the final patch of Dragonflight. They look at the schedule between now and when they can expect Patch 11.0 to release and consider that there probably isn’t time for two more raids. They also talk about Mike Ybarra’s “No Pirates” tweet revealing that the next expansion will not focus on Pirates.

In the news, Wratch Classic has Phase 4 on the PTR and the Joyous Journeys buff has returned.
