We hear and read things related to our individuality all of the time. We're constantly encouraged to express ourselves and embrace the many aspects that make us unique. Yet we all hesitate when making decisions and often, don't go after the things that we know will make us happier. This episode is a reminder that we are very lucky to be alive and therefore, should be grateful we've been given the opportunity to live. As a math lover, I use data and statistics to breakdown just how fortunate we really are.

Trust is something we have to exercise in our personal relationships in order to fully show up and be present with other people. It allows relationships to blossom without resistance, which is the whole point of interacting with individuals. Trust is also something we have to keep in-mind when things don't turn out the way we expect them to. We must trust the timing of the universe in order to let go of things and people that are meant to only enter our lives for a short period of time. Everything that surrounds us and essentially exists to uplift and develop who we are requires the act of trust.

Words of Wisdom Wednesday is about the power of energy and the relationship between our external circumstances and our state-of-mind. Negative thoughts seem to invite unpleasant events into our lives as well as people that contribute to the negative mindset we're in. However, the opposite happens when we feel grateful and happy on a consistent basis. Like attracts like so it's important to shift our mindset when we find ourselves struggling to stay positive.

At least twice per month, I write about the lessons I learned the previous week on LinkedIn. This is the first of many podcast episodes that will be an extension of those articles that's aimed at giving a more detailed description of how I arrived at these lessons and the experiences that accompanied each one. 

3 Lessons Learned Last Week Are:

1. You go backwards before you go forward.
2. Move.
3. Become inquisitive AF (as f*ck) towards yourself. 

May is Mental Health Awareness Month, which is why I'll be focused on highlighting my personal battle with depression and how that's impacted different areas of my life like entrepreneurship. In this episode, I also discuss the data regarding suicide rates in an effort to break the stigma behind mental illnesses. My goal with episodes such as this one is to encourage conversations associated with these topics so others feel less alone and more comfortable talking about their struggles with mental health. 

Depression and fear prevented me from starting The WOWW Campaign Podcast 3 years ago when I initially had the idea after consistently listening to Pat Flynn on Smart Passive Income. Although he was inspiring and played a role in my journey, I did not act on my desires until I began to better understand myself in general. Gary Vaynerchuk harps on the idea that we shouldn't care what others think and only when we break our ties with external approval will we truly begin to go after the things we're capable of achieving. In this episode, I go into detail about how my hidden battle with external validation created a need for approval from everything that surrounded me. Realizing these underlying issues was the beginning of my personal transformation.

Learning these lessons opened doors to windows I didn't know existed while planting seeds of motivation that would allow me to finally launch the WOWW product line with FEMALE is my greatest asset as the first t-shirt for women designed by yours truly.

Today is Words of Wisdom Wednesday {WOWW Wednesday} - my new favorite day of the week! The need to be perfect held me back in many different areas of my life and chances are, it's got a grip on you as well. In this short episode I talk about the moments I realized that perfection doesn't exist and it's a complete lie we tell ourselves!

Once I realized that doing the best I could in every situation was the only thing that mattered, I began to let go of my attachment to this illusion. I spent years waiting to launch The WOWW Campaign Podcast because I was waiting "for the perfect time" and needed to have "everything in perfect order" before taking action. Recently, when I designed my first WOWW t-shirt for women, I laughed at how long it took me to finally show it to the world because it seemed silly that I kept my desires a secret for far too long.

It's 2017 and technology is more prevalent than it ever has been. I decided to interview women during the SXSW Interactive portion of the festival to raise awareness for women in tech and the data associated with such topics. In this episode, you'll hear why I'm passionate about encouraging women to get into science & engineering fields as well as some of my concerns with recent data that has been published about the actual number of women obtaining degrees in these fields. It stems (no pun intended) from my childhood, but I'm grateful for it because it's allowed me to be empathic towards these issues now as an adult. Part II of "Women at SXSW" also features soundbites from women answering the question: "What has been your greatest life lesson thus far?" I wanted to bridge two things I"m extremely passionate about: women in STEM & sharing insightful wisdom that can be applied to our personal and/or professional lives.

They all had to answer the same question: "What has been your greatest life lesson thus far?" Women from all over the world shared lessons and insight they've gathered from life and were not afraid to share this knowledge in order to support our mission of inspiring other people. You'll learn what "STEM" stands for and why we chose the Interactive portion of the festival to highlight women in tech and other industries. In this episode, you'll also learn why data and statistics related to women in tech jobs are important for our economy and the future of our children.
