Wrestling With My Girl

We jump back to 2014 and check out one of the earlier NXT TakeOver shows--Revolution. It was a pretty good special with a great main event between Neville and Sami Zayn plus we get to see who's still around and what the roster had in store for WWE over the next few years.

After the break we run through the recent bigger matches from NJPW's Road to Dontaku tour.

Today we run through the big show in the midst of the Dontaku tour, Sengoku Lord, match by match that had an amazing bout to end the show. We briefly mention some of the 'road to' shows and then meander a bit on WWE's Worlds Collide show before going home!

We're back with our cold takes on WrestleMania 35 as well as the post-WM shake up of Raw and SmackDown. We continue our review of WWE's network specials with a list of "boo yakas" and "boo (well you'll see)" for Mania and then run down the movement of the roughly thirty independent contractors who changed brands.

After the huge weekend of wrestling we're back talking about NXT's TakeOver New York show as well as NJPW/ROH's SuperCard from Madison Square Garden.

Lots of praise all around as TakeOver delivered per usual with a night a good to very good matches (plus a Kushida sighting).

The G1 Supercard show was a little more divided but still contained some incredible matches. Plus, and it goes for the whole weekend, the crowd was on their A-game.

Today we're talking about the recent episode of John Oliver's Last Week Tonight which focused on WWE and the topic of wrestlers being classified as independent contractors. Jesse Ventura visits us to weigh in. Then we run through a few recent and not so recent matches (Cobb vs. Hangman Page at RoH Final Battle, Devlin vs. Starr at OTT's Homecoming 2 & the 1987 Women's Survivor Series match). Finally, we wrap up with some quick NXT TakeOver New York picks.

Last week we said we're covering nights two through eight of the New Japan Cup but that was a goof as we never talked about night eight. That's all remedied here as we cover the entire rest of the tournament. We run through all the great matches, Ishii as cup MVP, thoughts on Sanada, and much more. Lastly we do a quick run down of the NJPW/ROH super show card at MSG. Buster even adds his two-cents (spoiler) he's bored.

Today it's all New Japan Cup as we discuss the tournament matches from nights two though eight. We talk about the best matches so far, the biggest surprise of what may end up being the whole cup, orange juice, Davey Boy's disappointment, and much more.

Today we're talking about WWE's last network special before WrestleMania, Fastlane. We went with a "fastlane"/"that's lame" approach with this one and topics include: Kofi and Becky's complicated mess, does the main roster even have real wrestling matches anymore(?), the match of the night, Sasha's first main roster title defense ever, praise for Byron Saxton, and more.

After the break we talk about night one of New Japan cup, how to sift through so many matches, praise for the New Japan "dads," and of course the match of the night. Sara's bracket is already ruined.

Today we're discussing NJPW's 47th anniversary show featuring an excellent main event between Will Ospreay and Jay White. We also mention acupuncture, the other two good championship matches, and kiss sounds to quiet down Buster (our pug). Lastly, we threw in the main purpose story for the Iizuka retirement show as our go home.
