Miryssa Nelson of Coloma Softball is our WSJM Sports Player of the Week
Coloma went 4-0 for the week with a sweep of Fennville 15-0, and 16-1,  Then the Comets swept Parchment 13-3 and 13-7.

Miryssa was the starting pitcher in both of the opening game wins.  Against Fennville she allowed 1 hit and struck out 6 and against Parchment, she allowed 6 hits and had 2 earned runs while striking out 3.

At the plate in the leadoff position, she's batted .750 for the week with 7 singles, 2 doubles, 4 walks, scored 8 times and had 5 rbi and stole two bases.

She has a .621 batting average this season.

Miryssa is currently a senior at Coloma high school and has a 3.9 GPA.  She also plays volleyball and basketball.

• Detroit smashes the NFL Draft attendance record with over 775,000 fans flooding downtown Detroit over the three day draft.   Beating 600,000 by Nashville in 2019.
• Tigers take 2 of the 3 with Kansas City after beating Royals 4-1 on Sunday, Tigers home again tonight at 6:40 against St. Louis, 6:15 on WSJM.

Ellie Howard of Our Lady of the Lake girls soccer is our WSJM Sports Player of the Week. 

The Lakers went 3-1 over the week, falling to Kalamazoo Hackett, but defeating Covert, and then beating Niles and Dowagiac in a Saturday tournament.

Ellie had 5 goals and an assist in the three wins, including a hat trick against Covert.  

Ellie is a junior and in the classroom, she has a 4.3 GPA
