Jeff Devereux, First Night Coordinator talks about some of the great festivities and deals that are going on in the states Capitol to bring in the New Year

Merritt Parkway Conservancy Executive Director Wes Haynes discusses the past, present and future of the parkway.

Upon entering, guests are greeted by a brass ensemble, a mime, a juggler, a magician, stilt walkers, a puppeteer, and jesters. These recall the Christmas entertainment provided by the Lord Mayor of London, where these festivities originated in the late 15th century and continue to this day.

We discuss the 72nd Carl Bozenski’s Christmas Village, In 1948 Carl Bozenski, Torrington’s Parks and Recreation Supervisor, invited Santa Claus to spend the three weeks before Christmas at Alvord Playground. Along for the trip from the North Pole came Santa’s reindeer and his helpers.
