Tanisha Bezue is senior program director at Committee of 70, an organization established in 1904 to combat political corruption in Philadelphia. Tanisha spent 13 years teaching middle school social studies and has always had a passion for encouraging active citizenship. She is committed to empowering individuals to participate in the democratic process and has served as a Judge of Elections since 2020.
Today, from 6pm-7pm, the Committee of 70 will be having an online webinar to help communities better understand and engage in the budget process. It will give people a closer look at how decisions are made in both Harrisburg and Philadelphia.
Tanisha joins the show to further discuss the context of the webinar, and to talk about why citizens need to be involved in a city's budget plans to ultimately get the change they'd like to see.
