X Is For Comics: An X-Men Podcast

It's a Friendsgiving special and the X crew can't wait to share their celebration with you! First up! Cable 6 -- Nathan leads an all-star group of Robbie, Evelyn, & Kyle as they take a look at the final issue before the triple-title-finale-drop, and the shocks for Cable, Gorgon, & Apocalypse. Then, Arturo, Rod, & Raven take their stab at the Juggernaut miniseries with the third issue -- and the three of them have a lot of questions about what makes a mutant, and some mutants they'd like to see pop up in the pages of X-Men or elsewhere! Finally, closeout the first holiday party of the season with Nico & Josh talking Apocalypse, with a very tiny focus on The Adventures Of Cyclops & Phoenix! All this and more on an all new X Is For Podcast!

As the sword drop draws nearer, the This Is X Of Swords team gets way more extra than normal. First up, Arturo is on a mission -- he's going to get Raven to dig these books, where she's concerned about pacing (but definitely not concerned about the cats)! Meanwhile, Rod pours his heart out about why Ororo Munroe is THE BEST, which Arturo & Raven can't help but agree. Next up, as Jonah calls it, The Sinister Show -- or moreover, Hellions! Nico maintains it didn't need to be a number part of XOS which Josh & Matty can't help but agree, before the whole team gets deep into the history of the industry, the evolution of line editorship, and the possible Legacy of Fallen Angels? All this, PLUS Nathan, Robbie, Kyle, & Evelyn tackle one of the best books Marvel's released in some time in the pages of Marvel's Indigenous Voices, with special focus on Dani Moonstar, leading Evelyn to want to read more, and sending Kyle, Robbie, & Nathan back to the back issues to reread her classic stories (and there's even a little room for Nico all-time-fav, Echo!)! All this and more on an all new X Is For Podcast!

Drawing closer to the end of X of Swords, the contest takes....a significant turn? The X-Men are dealt with with ease -- from falling to pieces, to over-estimating the fairness of the rules, Krakoa is fuc*&d but good. Nico manages to convince Matty that Bei's Doom Note is amazing for Doug, while Jonah & Evelyn question where exactly all the pieces fit together. Robbie posits things will get worse before they improve, while Kyle, Arturo, & Josh debate the change in tone and whether or not it was choreographed. Finally, Raven LETS LOOSE on Saturnyne, Nathan, Dante and Rod debate the direction Storm is moving in, while Nico is somehow convinced Betsy Braddock is attending night school? And everyone wants to know what's with the Beetle and Mad Jim? All this and more on a new X Is For Podcast: This Is X Of Swords!

The contest got....weird? Marauders 14-15 changed everything for the mutants of Krakoa & Arakko as the Majestrix of Otherworld pulls the universe down around their years. Evelyn & Matty wonder about the pacing, while Nico provides some insights into the usage of the slow down on the story, and Jonah sells Nico out on how many of his insights are from The Price Is Right. Arturo compares the dinner party to Sandman, while Josh & Kyle dive into the intricacies of Saturnyne's gameplan, while Robbie dreams of Storm's underwater dance. Lastly, Rod & Raven rave about The White Sword, while Dante creates compelling contrasts for Cable. Nico & Nathan laugh it up as the team comes to realize Magik may just be Vanellope with a Great Sword?! All this plus Shania Twain's Krakoan Greatest Hits.

X-Men #14 -- New Box! Same Great Taste! X-Men #14 sees another version of the Arrokan/Krakoan/Okkaran myth of the great cleaving yet again -- and this time, the team has theories! Nico & Arturo face off on whether or not the issue was truly worth the $4 price! Jonah & Evelyn talk perspectives on the role of the lovestory in X Of Swords! Then -- Robbie, Nathan, Matty, & Kyle free-for-all on the ever-evolving state of Apoc, and what it will take to see this story to its next logical place! Then, Josh & Raven talk to Dante & Rod about Saturnyne theories before part one of a new segment kicks off! Nico & Josh examine the history of Apocalypse by looking to his future in an armchair psychology dive on The Adventures Of Cyclops & Phoenix sorta -- it winds up everywhere -- the 80s, 90s, the Days Of Future Past, The Askani, the XSE and more! All this on an all new X IS FOR PODCAST!

Join the X-Crew for the biggest issue of the X Of Swords event yet! First up: Nico leads a room on a deep character investigation of the events of Stasis -- Arturo is a Sheriff Gia stan, Evelyn lives for Isca, and Jonah is all about Bei. Then, Josh leads an UNQUIET room where newcomer Dante offers his perspectives on the shift in perspective before Rod & Raven weigh in on the many worlds of the Otherworld. Kyle brings it on home where Robbie leads the team, featuring Matty & Nathan, on an amazing investigation of the tarot on an all new Xi4P!

The tide of war turns as the X-Men get their final swords in Excalibur & X-Men #13s! First up, The Siblings Braddock combat the machinations of Saturnyne -- leaving the team to question whether Brian's a Himbo, Betsy is ready to take on Saturnyne, and who gets to bang Jamie first. Then, the team looks to Apocalypse and the past of mutantkind as they examine #13. Raven unleashes a mass of knowledge about swordcraft, leaving Evelyn, Rod, & Arturo in awe -- each of who have their own questions about the mystery of the original Horsemen, Isca, & Annihilation. Jonah leads Kyle, Nathan, & Robbie on a discussion of whether or not Apoc himself is gonna survive. Last, join Nico, Josh, & Matty as they shout about the best Apoc stories ever and what it means in the context of X-Men #13! All this and more on a new Xi4P!

The contest draws nearer in X Of Swords Chapters 7-8! Things start off with Nico drawing parallels between XOS and....Tori Amos lyrics leading them to a Johnathan Hickman story based on a Tori Amos song, about a world cleaved apart, a magic sword, and what a man would do to reunite his family!? Jonah, Arturo, & Nathan join in with him in celebrating Cypher, the underrated X-Man who is more ready to survive this challenge than anyone. Also, Warlock could take Exodus, whatever. Then, Josh leads Rod & Raven through a discussion about Magik and her journey from lost child to avuncular demon-goddess, as well as the transfer of New Mutants from the pen of Ed Brisson to Vita Ayala, while retaining the art of Rod Reis. Evelyn, Kyle, & Robbie dip into New Mutants for a moment before moving things over to Cable -- where the groups talk family, Lights of Galador, and what is in store for the title, knowing Cable himself is on his way to SWORD. All this and more in an all new X IS FOR PODCAST!

The Hellions find themselves in Otherworld, with no real purpose -- so they've given themselves one. And the X-Crew has a lot to say about it! Jonah loves to hate Empath, while Nathan can't get over LOVING Nanny & Orphanmaker, which turns out to be true ACROSS THE BOARD! Evelyn & Matty take guesses at the future of team who proudly has no future, before Arturo returns to talk more Hellions -- this time with Josh and Raven! The three of them marvel at their love for Mad Jim & talk about the recent history of Psylocke, including Fallen Angels! Then, the classic hosts -- Nico, Jonah, Kyle, & Matty -- come back together to weigh in on Juggernaut #1-2. A lost hero leads to a lost book? But D-Cel is AWESOME! All this and more on a new X IS FOR PODCAST: THIS IS X OF SWORDS!

Vita Ayala’s debut onto X-Men was announced a year ago -- and now we FINALLY GET IT. Vita takes the X-Men from Krakoa & Otherworld to the heart of Wakanda itself! The team seeks to understand the complex, beautiful, and nuanced tale Vita & Mateo Lolli wove across 22 pages. FIRST UP -- Nico, Kyle, & Robbie track the roles Storm has held across the X-Men, discuss the realities of the regency, and appreciate the beauty of the WOC experiences presented in the issue. THEN -- The Xi4P team grows YET AGAIN with the introduction of yet another new voice -- this time, it’s RAVEN coming on board to help Josh & Arturo dissect the biggest issue of Marauders yet. The three of them discuss the need for POC writers on a title, before Raven explores it on a personal level, leaving Arturo to discuss how the evolution of Black Panther & Storm’s marriage has helped him to love the characters even better. CLOSING OUT Marauders -- Jonah, Nathan, Matty, & Evelyn has a great time discussing Storm the thief, Storm the sister, and Storm the BADASS. And as part of the team’s dedication to covering EVERYTHING, Nico, Robbie, & Kyle are joined by Arturo so the team can talk about the FUNNIEST issue of Hellions to date! Primarily -- what in the Orphanmaker did Zeb Wells do to make Nanny the best part of the title, and how in the clone did Mister Sinister get funnier than ever?! All this and more on an all new This Is X Of Swords!
