The X-Men franchise has been a very hit and miss movie affair. Dark Phoenix is in a position where on one hand, its a way better movie than X-Men Apocalypse but the flipside is that once again we're getting a movie about the Phoenix. While the film doesn't fall into the trappings that The Last Stand did, it still ends up falling short in bringing together a competent narrative and alot of that has to do with the short runtime and lacking the pieces that makes the story work so well in the comic book.
