「Restore us, O God;

　Cause Your face to shine,

　And we shall be saved!」　Amen.

　"Cause Your face to shine" is sung three times in Psalm 80. The nations have perished, the people have been taken away. We are in a desperate situation." Restore us," they sang urgently. They longed for national restoration and spiritual awakening. But there are things that God must accomplish, and there are things that man must accomplish. God's hand will not move unless people turn to the Lord.

　May the hand of the Lord guide us today!

『神よ　私たちを元に戻し

　御顔を照り輝かせてください。

　そうすれば　私たちは救われます。』

　「御顔を照り輝かせてください」と８０篇では3回歌われています。国は滅亡し、破壊され、人々は連れ去られました。絶望的な状況です。「私たちを元に戻し」と、切実に歌っています。国の回復と霊的覚醒を待ち望んでいるのです。しかしながら、神が成すべきことと人が成すべきことがあるのです。人が主に立ち返らない限り神の御手は動かないのです。

　今日も、主の御手に導かれますように・・・。

「So we, Your people and sheep of Your pasture,

Will give You thanks forever;

We will show forth Your praise to all generations.」　Amen.

　In 586 BC, Jerusalem was destroyed by Babylon. The temple was destroyed and the remaining people were taken to a foreign country, Babylon. In the midst of such despair, they were convinced of God's salvation and pledged praise and thanksgiving in this song. God's salvation became a reality, and 70 years later, they were allowed to return, the temple was rebuilt, and hope arose that a Savior, Jesus, would be born from the lineage of David of the tribe of Judah!

　May we be mindful of the Lord's plan today as well.

『私たちは　あなたの民　あなたの牧場の羊です。

　私たちは　とこしえまでもあなたに感謝し

　代々限りなく　あなたの誉れを語り告げます。』

　ＢＣ５８６年にエルサレムは、バビロンによって滅ぼされました。神殿は破壊され、残された人々は異郷の地バビロンへと連れ去られました。そんな絶望の中にあって、神の救済を確信して、賛美と感謝を捧げる事を誓う歌なのです。神の救済は現実のものとなりました。70年後に帰還が許され、神殿再建が許され、このユダ族のダビデの家系から救い主イエス様が誕生するという希望が生まれるのです。

　今日も、主のご計画に心を留めることができますように・・・。　

「Pour out Your wrath on the nations that do not know You,

　And on the kingdoms that do not call on Your name.」　Amen.

　Asaph sought God's judgment. It was against another nation. But Judah, his own nation, was actually judged. For the chief priests and all the people of Judah were idolaters, insulting God's messengers, despising God's word, and making fun of the prophets. God's temple was burned, Jerusalem was destroyed, and the survivors were taken to Babylon.

　May we be in the Lord's hands today.

『どうか　あなたの激しい憤りを注いでください。

　あなたを知らない国々に。

　御名を呼び求めない王国の上に。』

　アサフは神様の裁きを求めました。それは、他国に対してでした。でも、実際に裁かれたのは、自国のユダだったのです。それは、ユダの祭司長全員と民が偶像礼拝に走り、遣わされた神の使者たちを侮り、神のみことばを蔑み、預言者たちを物笑いにしたからです。神の宮は焼かれ、エルサレムは壊され、生き残った者たちはバビロンへと連れていかれたのです。

　今日も、主の御手の中で過ごされますように・・・。

『けれども　彼らはいと高き神を試み

　神に逆らい

　そのさとしを守らなかった。』

　55節までは、神様が民をいかに守り、今まで導いてきたかを語っています。しかしながら、民は神を試み、逆らい、さとしを守らなかったというのです。人間は、創造主なる神様に造られ、エデンの園という安心安全な場所で暮らしていましたが、結局、神様を離れることを選択したのです。平安、堕落、叫び、介入、平安というサイクルを繰り返しています。主の恵みを忘れる事が出来ないようにしたいものです。

　今日も、主の恵みを数えることができますように・・・。　

『4:17 「わたしはあなたを多くの国民の父とした」と書いてあるとおりです。彼は、死者を生かし、無いものを有るものとして召される神を信じ、その御前で父となったのです。4:18 彼は望み得ない時に望みを抱いて信じ、「あなたの子孫は、このようになる」と言われていたとおり、多くの国民の父となりました。4:19 彼は、およそ百歳になり、自分のからだがすでに死んだも同然であること、またサラの胎が死んでいることを認めても、その信仰は弱まりませんでした。4:20 不信仰になって神の約束を疑うようなことはなく、かえって信仰が強められて、神に栄光を帰し、4:21 神には約束したことを実行する力がある、と確信していました。』

「You led Your people like a flock

　By the hand of Moses and Aaron.」　Amen.

They crossed the Sea of Reeds by the miracle of God. Until then, there had been a Passover and many miracles and battles before they reached the land of Canaan. Overcoming all of them, they arrived at the Promised Land. To remember such miracles of God, festivals, worship services, and stone monuments have been passed down from generation to generation. It has continued to the present day. Through them we remember God's power, protection, and love.

May we count the Lord's blessings today.

『あなたは　モーセとアロンの手によって

　ご自分の民を　羊の群れのように導かれました。』

　神様の奇跡によって、葦の海を渡りました。それまでに過ぎ越しがあり、また、カナンの地へたどり着くまでには、数々の奇跡や戦いがあり、すべてを乗り越えて約束の地へ到達したのです。その神様の奇跡を忘れないように、祭りや礼拝や石碑などで、世代から世代へ伝えられてきたのです。それは現代でも続いているのです。それによって、神様の力、守り、愛を思い出すのです。

　今日も、主の恵みを数えることができますように・・・。
