「In the day of my trouble I sought the Lord;

　My hand was stretched out in the night without ceasing;

　My soul refused to be comforted.」　Amen.

　When we are deeply troubled, we pray to the Lord, but we also want to be comforted by others. However, the comfort of others is often superficial and not comforting. Job was in a similar situation. He got into an argument with some friends who came to comfort him. It was then that God began to speak to him. That is when he had an encounter with the true God and received comfort. True comfort comes from God.

　May we be healed by the Lord's comfort today as well.

『苦難の日に　私は主を求め

　夜もすがら　たゆまず手を差し伸ばした。

　けれども　私のたましいは慰めを拒んだ。』

　本当に苦しい時に、主に祈りますが、誰かに慰められたい気持ちも出てきます。でも、人の慰めは、表面的で慰めにならないことが多々あるのです。ヨブもそうでした。慰めに来た友人たちとの論争になってしまったのです。そんな時に神様が語り始められました。そこに真の神様との出会いがあり、慰めを得たのです。本当の慰めは、やはり神様からくるのです。

　今日も、主の慰めに心癒されますように・・・。　

「Make vows to the Lord your God,

　and pay them;」　Amen.

　Life is a series of choices and decisions. What to choose and how to make decisions at each time of employment, marriage, and child rearing are heavy decisions. But we have to make decisions. What about our relationship with God and ourselves? When I met God, when I confessed my faith in Him, when I made the decision to devote myself to Him, I jumped in without knowing what to expect. But the foundation of this decision was trust in God.

　May we continue to put our trust in the Lord today as well.

『あなたがたの神　【主】に

　誓いを立て　それを果たせ。』

　人生は、選択と決断の連続です。就職、結婚、子育て、それぞれの時に何を選択し、どう決断をするのか、重い判断です。でも、決断しなければならないのです。では、神様と自分との関係ではどうでしょうか。神様と出会った時、神様への信仰を告白した時、神様への献身を決意した時、何も分からずに飛び込んでいったのです。でも、この決断の土台には、神への信頼があったのです。

　今日も、主に信頼を寄せることができますように・・・。

「The earth and all its inhabitants are dissolved;

　I set up its pillars firmly. Selah」　Amen.

  These are "shaky times. The world is shaking. Politics, the economy, institutions, ideology, and the environment are all "shaking times," and people's anxiety is only increasing. Especially, those who have no foundation and those who have nothing to believe in are becoming more and more anxious. The Bible says, “I set up its pillars firmly.” God will make you a person who is unshakable, a person who can be relied upon like a pillar of the earth. If God is on your side, you will be secure no matter what happens.

May we entrust ourselves to the Lord's hand today as well.

『地とそこに住むすべての者が揺らぐとき

　わたしが　地の柱を堅く立てる。　セラ』

　今や、「揺れ動く時代」です。世界が揺れ動いています。政治が経済が体制が思想が環境が、この「揺れ動く時代」の中で人々の不安は増すばかりです。特に土台の無い人、信じるものがない人は、一層不安です。聖書は言うのです。「わたしが　地の柱を堅く立てる」と。揺れ動かない人、地の柱のように頼りになる人にしてくださるというのです。神様が味方ならば、何があっても、大安心です。

　今日も、主の御手に委ねることができますように・・・。

「The day is Yours, the night also is Yours;

　You have prepared the light and the sun.」　Amen.　

　When Job could not find a solution, God appeared and showed him the work of creation. There are times when we too cannot move forward even though we pray and pray, or when we cannot bear God's silence. At such times, we say, "Let there be light! and remember the Creator God who prepared the day and night, the moon and the sun, and count each grace He has given us. God is at work not only in creation, but also in our lives today.

　May we remember His grace today as well.

『昼はあなたのもの　夜もあなたのもの。

　あなたは月と太陽を備えられました。』

　ヨブがどうしても解を見つけられない時、神様は現れ、創造の業を見せて下さいました。私達も祈っても祈っても前へ進めない時や、神様の沈黙に耐えられない時があります。そんな時には、「光あれ！」と言って創造の業を行い、昼も夜も、月も太陽も備えられた創造主なる神様の事を覚え、神様が私たちにしてくださった恵みの一つ一つを数えてみましょう。神様は、創造の時だけではなく、今の私たちの生活の中でも働いておられるのです。

　今日も、主の恵みを思い出しますように・・・。

「Truly God is good to Israel,

To such as are pure in heart.」　Amen.

The title is "Asaph's Hymn". Asaph was one of the leaders of David's choir of Levites. The hymn of Asaph continues through Psalm 83. He says that God is in control of this world, but the reality is that it is hard for the faithful. This is an eternal theme, but the word "truly" has the connotation of "I knew it. ” We often wonder why, but when we look up to God, we will feel again, "I knew it was so."

May we look up to the Lord today as well.

『まことに  神はいつくしみ深い。

イスラエルに  心の清らかな人たちに。』

表題には、「アサフの賛歌」とあります。アサフは、ダビデの、レビ人による聖歌隊のひとつの指導者でした。このアサフの賛歌が83篇まで続くのです。神様がこの世界を支配しておられるのに、現実は信仰者にとっては辛いものだと言うのです。これは、永遠のテーマですが、「まことに」という言葉には「やはりそうだった」とい意味合いがあります。「どうして」と思う気持ちが多々芽生えますが、神様を見上げる時、「やはりそうだった」と改めて感じる時がくるのです。

今日も、主を見上げて過ごすことができますように・・・。
