「"But as for you, you meant evil against me;

　but God meant it for good,

　in order to bring it about as it is this day,

　to save many people alive.」　Amen.

  Joseph no longer thought anything about his brothers' malice, but they were afraid. So Joseph spoke today's words. God is a good God. He turns evil intentions into good intentions and disasters into blessings. Paul's desire to go to Rome was fulfilled through the prosecution of his opponents. God turns everything into good.

　May we be mindful of the Lord's plan today....

『あなたがたは私に悪を謀りましたが、神はそれを、

　良いことのための計らいとしてくださいました。

　それは今日のように、

　多くの人が生かされるためだったのです。』

　ヨセフは、兄たちの悪意に関して、もはや何も思ってはいませんでしたが、兄たちは、恐れていたのです。そこで、今日の言葉をヨセフは語ったのです。神様は、良き神様です。悪意を善意に、災禍を祝福へと変えて下さるのです。パウロがローマへ行きたいという願いも、敵対する者たちの告訴によって成就されていったのです。神様はすべてを益に変えてくださるのです。

　今日も、主のご計画に心を寄せることができますように・・・。　

「The scepter shall not depart from Judah,

　Nor a lawgiver from between his feet,

　Until Shiloh comes;

　And to Him shall be the obedience of the people.」　Amen.

 　Jacob calls his twelve sons and entrusts each of them with a word. Among them, Judah is given the word of the day. From this tribe of Judah, David would be born, and then our Savior Jesus. Shiloh means “peace” or “the sent one”. It seems to mean the coming of Jesus, the Savior who brings peace.

　May the peace of the Lord be with you today....

『王権はユダを離れず、

　王笏はその足の間を離れない。

　ついには彼がシロに来て、諸国の民は彼に従う。』

　ヤコブは、１２人の息子たちを呼び、それぞれに言葉を託します。その中で、ユダには、今日の言葉が与えられるのです。このユダ族からダビデが誕生し、そして、救い主イエス様が生まれるのです。シロには、「平和」とか「送られたもの」という意味があります。平和をもたらす救い主のイエス様が来られることを意味しているようです。

今日も、主の平安が得られますように・・・。

「And Jacob was told,

　"Look, your son Joseph is coming to you";

　and Israel strengthened himself and sat up on the bed.」　Amen.

Jacob's life was a life of rage. But its end was coming. But he was able to see Joseph, whom he thought was dead, and his sons. It was a safe and satisfying end. My life also changed drastically after I met Jesus. But it is a secure and satisfying life because I am promised to walk with Jesus and go to be with Him.

　May I walk with Jesus today as well....

『ヤコブに

　「息子さんのヨセフが、今お見えになりました」

　との知らせがあった。それで、イスラエルは力を

　振り絞って床の上に座った。』

　ヤコブの一生は怒涛のような人生でした。しかし、その終わりが来ようとしていました。でも、死んだと思っていたヨセフに会うことができ、その息子たちにも会うことができました。安心、満足な終わりだと思います。私の人生もイエス様に出会ってから一変しました。でも、イエス様と共に歩み、イエス様の元へ行く事が約束されていますから、安心で満足な一生なのです。

　今日も、イエス様と共に歩めますように・・・。　

「So they said,

　"You have saved our lives;

　let us find favor in the sight of my lord,

　and we will be Pharaoh's servants."」　Amen.

Joseph, who became vizier, took measures to prepare for famine in the land of Egypt.This was a way to endure the seven-year famine. This increased and strengthened not only the people of Egypt, but also the people of Israel. In retrospect, the fact that they survived here led to the Exodus, the entry into Canaan, the building of the nation of Israel, and the birth of the Savior.　

　May we ponder the Lord's plan today....　

『すると彼らは言った。

　「あなた様は私たちを生かしてくださいました。

　私たちは、あなた様のご好意を受けて、

　ファラオの奴隷となりましょう。」』

　宰相となったヨセフは、エジプトの地で飢饉に備える施策を行いました。それが、七年間の

飢饉に耐えうる対策となったのです。これは、エジプトの民だけではなく、イスラエルの民をも増やし、力を蓄えていったのです。思えば、ここで生き永らえた事によって、出エジプト、カナン入国、イスラエル国建設、救い主誕生へと繋がっていくのです。　

　今日も、主のご計画に思いを巡らすことができますように・・・。

「So He said,

　"I am God, the God of your father;

　do not fear to go down to Egypt,

　for I will make of you a great nation there.」　Amen.

　When Jacob was old, he worshipped at Beer Sheva, a historic place where both Abraham and Isaac had worshipped. It was a historic place where both Abraham and Isaac had worshipped. There, Jacob received a word from God, “I will make you a great nation.” These were the same words that Abraham had received. And those words were fulfilled in the land of Egypt.

　May we keep the Lord's words in mind today....

『すると神は仰せられた。

　「わたしは神、あなたの父の神である。

　エジプトに下ることを恐れるな。

　わたしはそこで、あなたを大いなる国民とする。』

　年老いたヤコブは、ベール・シェバで礼拝を捧げました。そこは、アブラハムもイサクも礼拝を捧げた由緒深い場所でした。そこで、ヤコブは神から、「大いなる国民にする」との言葉をいただくのです。それは、かつてアブラハムも頂いた言葉でした。そして、その言葉がエジプトの地で成就するのです。

　今日も、主の言葉に心を留めることができますように・・・。
