In an unprecedented interreligious conference held in Rome last year, Pope Francis and four hundred religious leaders and scholars from around the world met to explore what their diverse faiths teach about marriage and “the complementarity of man and woman.”

Theology on Tap on Monday, September 7 also featured representatives from different traditions – Catholic, Anabaptist & Anglican – who brought bring the wisdom of their various faiths and cultures to bear on this timely issue.

Speakers included:

- Catholic: Archbishop Anthony Fisher OP

- Anabaptist: Bill & Grace Wiser (Bruderhof Community)

- Anglican: Simon Smart (Centre for Public Christianity)

Note: Rabbi Gad Krebs representing the Jewish community was also scheduled to attend but could not make it.

Is there anything true though in the ancient slogan? Is there any link between wine, and truth and faith and ethics; or is all alcohol just addictive poison? It's time we sipped not just from theology on tap but enjoyed a glass - or two - of philosophy from the bottle.

The youth event Theology on Tap returned to the Archdiocese of Sydney on 1 December 2014, with Archbishop Anthony Fisher OP delivering an address titled “Faith in Sydney”. It was held at Le Pub in Sydney’s CBD.
