The Xtra Time Podcast by Xavier Sanchez welcomes Chad Durbin to the show for its eighth episode.
Despite being an Illinois native, he has called Louisiana since he was about 11 or 12. Growing up he was a versatile athlete playing in multiple sports and doing whatever it took to compete.
He would get drafted not just as pitcher but as a middle infielder. Pitching would be his claim to fame but setbacks happened but in the end, he played 456 regular season MLB games and 16 in the playoffs across six teams which includes Kansas City Royals, Cleveland Indiana, Arizona Diamondbacks, Detroit Tigers, Philadelphia Phillies, and Atlanta Braves.
No season was as big as his 2008 campaign as he posted a 2.87 ERA while leading the National League innings from a reliever. It was cemented with a World Series Champion
The duo dive into his career including stories about playing under great managers and with players like Roy Halladay, the fans in Philly and being around the youth in today's game and being the best coach and teacher he can be for them.
All that and more in this week's episode!
