XtraChill

For logistical reasons, this 409th episode of "XtraChill" was not produced today, on February 15th, 2024, but before dear Andreas' "carnival escape"! Which is why your host can't report anything about his vacation in the Ardennes yet. Yesterday, on Ash Wednesday, Carneval was all over again - a blessing for those who don't like it, a drama for all the buffoons who have to hang their cardboard noses back in the closet until November. After two episodes with a dominant set of four, today there are two “threesomes” again - and much more. Listen and relax, because this playlist is sure to convince you.

From today, February 1st, 2024, the Rhineland will be warming up for the coming Carnival days - and dear Andreas will be fleeing abroad, like every year. This time he will go to Belgium again: after the three-city tour through Flanders, your host is heading to the bosom of nature this year and is hoping for nice weather for great hikes in the Ardennes. Today's 408th episode of "XtraChill" maintains the same music scheme as the edition two weeks ago; a striking set of four tracks in the focus with an interesting similarity. In addition to two well-known names, this pre-Carnival episode boasts many new introductions! You can be very excited!

With Episode 407 of "XtraChill", the second January tradition continues, because after the XL-special with a look back at the past year on New Year's Day, the "leftover releases" will be reviewed on January 15th, i.e. albums, EPs and singles that were published at the turn of the year. The current playlist is divided a little differently than usual; the focus is on a four-piece set with an exciting mix of dub techno and minimal house. And at the end you can expect a new duo of artists with music from the still young year 2024. Have fun!

Frohes Neuer Jahr - Happy New Year!

Garantiert!

The year 2024 starts off with a superlative, because this 406th episode will be the longest episode of "XtraChill" so far! The reason for this is the annual review of the old year and 2023 had so many exciting new artists that the current playlist contains a whopping 24 tracks. And this time the order is chronological, because dear Andreas has selected two artists from each of the past twelve months who have made their debut in his little podcast. Of course, the “Golden Rule of XtraChill” applies again, which states that no track may be played twice. That's why today, on January 1st, 2024, you listeners will only get new music on your pretty ears. Hopefully you all started the New Year well - and if not, this XXL special episode will definitely help you get going. Guaranteed!

The year is once again coming to an end, including today, on December 15th, 2023! Before the hectic holidays, dear Andreas drags you out of the Christmas stress and uses an acute Covid infection (fortunately with a very mild course!) to create this wonderful 405th episode of "XtraChill" for you - an infection via the Internet's ether is fortunately excluded. Look forward again to two “Pair of Songs Plus” and an amazing “XL Bouncer” at the end, which will bring the current, very high-quality “XtraChill” year to a fitting end. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Because of the last-minute program change last time, dear Andreas has postponed the original music selection for episode 402 to today, November 15th, 2023 - because it would have been a shame to simply throw this great playlist into the bin! Am heutigen 01. November 2023 feiert man in vielen Regionen Allerheiligen.

Today, on November 1st, 2023, All Saints Day is celebrated in many regions. A holiday in some federal states on which people remember their deceased relatives and friends. Unfortunately, there is also a current reason for Andreas' family to celebrate this holiday, because his father Hans Schneider died on October 26th after a year-long illness.

After the festivities surrounding the episode-anniversary in the last edition, dear Andreas returns to the standard format of "XtraChill"! And no less exciting, as the music selection for this current episode 401 proves! The focus is once again on two "Song Pairs Plus", i.e. two tracks of a common genre with a bonus track inserted in between as a contrast - a concept that was already successfully tested in Episode 387. Have fun discovering!

Hip Hip Hooray! Today, on October 1st, the 400th episode of "XtraChill" is released! A reason for dear Andreas to be a little proud, because almost sixteen and a half years on air represents an entire era in the fast-moving time structure of the Internet! In the past, many important three-digit episodes were often very special editions; almost exactly thirteen years ago, Jürgen and Andreas dedicated the 100th episode to "Fonogeri" and its magnificent “Roughneck Selection”. Since then, there have been a number of commissioned works; the last monographic special edition to date was episode #351", in which "Dott. Santafeo" presented a very exclusive mix of his works. And that's exactly what listeners can expect today, because the croatian solo project "NuLix" has spontaneously agreed to get creative for this special episode. The result is a continuous mix titled “Cityscape”; a melange of various original compositions, some of which were created with the project "Expozed", and which can now only be experienced exclusively here at “XtraChill”. The work increases from ambient sounds and soundscapes to jazzy moments - Robert presents his entire musical range. Have fun with this exciting experiment!
