XtraChill

The big anniversary episode is already casting its shadow today, on September 15th, 2023, but this current, 399th episode follows the classic format with eight tracks in the 1-2-2-2-1 pattern - i.e. divided into three song pairs between the opening piece and the bouncer, which today - after a long time - finally has XL dimensions again! There are three new artists to discover, a new country on the "XtraChill" map and music from chillout, ambient, lounge up to dub or dub techno: dear Andreas covers everything that the free electronica scene on the Internet has to offer!

Summer is slowly coming to the home stretch, today, on September 1st, 2023. Dear Andreas is currently on a "return campaign" in Italy, because he is accompanying his husband on the car trip back home and is laying one more small stopover in Switzerland. That's why episode 398 of "XtraChill" was produced a few days in advance. And the playlist is worth listening to again: the focus is once again on two "threesomes", who couldn't be more heterogeneous - so there's plenty of variety! There is also a new net label from Germany to discover. Have fun listening!

It can go so quickly: the four-week summer break flew by - and unfortunately so did Andreas' three-week holiday in the Netherlands! As always after the long absence, a lot of music has accumulated, because the labels and artists have not been idle during the last four weeks - unlike your host! In any case, it didn't take much time to put together this 397th episode of "XtraChill", which will bring back the usual eight-track playlist today, on August 15th, 2023. The focus is on a small excursion into the Drum'n'Bass genre and the house theme of the past "XL Summer Special" is taken up again. The mix is rounded off by a great chillout tune from the german capital. Welcome back - and happy listening!

Shortly before the zenith of the year, dear Andreas, today, on June 15th, is already taking stock, because the first half of 2023 is over; soon it will be summer solstice and the days will unfortunately be getting shorter again! So far, since episode 384, whopping 73 tracks have been played on "XtraChill", 39 of which were done by new artists on the show! And with this current 394th edition, there are four more to come. The focus of the playlist is on two "song pairs plus" - as already tested in episode 387, these are music double packs with an "insertion track" of a different genre.

With all the stress of the eye surgery, dear Andreas overslept the 17th birthday of "XtraChill" , which is always celebrated on May 15th! But as you get older, you don't really notice cradle festivals anymore - and with the almost biblical age for a podcast, two weeks more or less doesn't make any difference. And so your host congratulates himself today, on June 1st, 2023 - with this 393rd edition! Among other things, two "Threesomes" and a total of 5.5 new artists are on the playlist, with the usual first-class music mix of free downtempo electronica from the Internet.

Again, dear Andreas has to pre-produce an episode before the actual release date. If you're listening to this episode of "XtraChill" today, on May 15th, 2023 (or after), it's only because your host has already taken action before his third (!) eye surgery on May 11th, so that you listeners safely and punctually download this 393rd episode from the server. Please keep all fingers crossed that this was the last surgical procedure. And because the patient, after the two retinal detachments last year, is aware that screen work is not so great so shortly after his stay in hospital, the early production was certainly not a bad idea! Fest versprochen!
