  • 'Ya Tu Sabe' Season 1 Episode 7: Happy Juneteenth!
Mi gente! I wanted to give a big HAPPY JUNETEENTH to my African American listeners! As many of us already know, Juneteenth commemorates the state of Texas finally freeing their slaves on June 19th when General Granger read orders at Ashton Villa to an audience of slaves. This video is all about providing historical context, dispelling some misconceptions, and speaking to my Hispanic audience about how important it is to see Juneteenth as an important part of the end of slavery for mankind as they once knew it at that time. I always talk about how much our histories intersect, and this is another event that speaks to not only the freedom of all slaves in all parts of America, but a transformative era for human beings. Join us tonight at 5PM for Friday Night Special where we have a week in review of the internet and popular topics. Follow me on Social Media and don't forget to hit the subscribe button!
