Welcome to the first episode of Ripples in Space hosted by the Yadkin County Public Library.  Each month we will review a new science fiction book and discuss major scientific concepts used throughtout the story.   For this first episode, we are reviewing a certain Time Lords adventures on the moon.  The audiobook Doctor Who Apollo 23 is in the spotlight this week.   Written by James Richards and narrated by James Albrecht, in this weeks story we find ourself in a classic Doctor Who mystery.  Where the stakes are high and events are odd.   But before we dive in, we talk about the science fiction.  What is it? We had a great talk with debut novelist Brian Lebeau as he explained the rich detail in his book, his literary influences, his amazing in-depth research and life experiences, and his future projects! We covered everything from baseball to serial killers, and had an excellent discussion of America in the 1970s and how that social and cultural context will be used in this series. His novel *A Disturbing Nature* is book 1 of 4 (we are first library in NC Cardinal to have a copy!), with book #2 coming out in Oct 2023.
