Presence, Mirroring, Reassurance - Learning to turn towards our fear and find the guidance in it
Ger Murphy joins today’s episode of YayCanDo for an in-depth discussion on the topic of fear. Ger has worked as a psychotherapist for over 35 years helping people deal with their suffering, release trauma and grow.
Ger shares with us the importance of turning towards our fear, to understand it and find the guidance in it. He describes how it affects us physically and emotionally so that we can recognise fear and understand its impact in the moment, and he shares with us a simple and effective framework for parenting ourselves and our children through fear. We discuss gender differences to fear, how it can play out in the workplace and in the opening of society as the restrictions are lifted and the need for patience and compassion at this time.
Ger has studied eastern and western approaches to Psychotherapy and Spirituality alongside a deep immersion in nature with practices from Red Path Indigenous traditions. He has trained as a Poetry Medicine Carrier.
He combines these disciplines to be of service in this most challenging time of personal and planetary transformation.
