It's another Aaron's Audio Audibles, and this time we welcome our friend Tim O'Connor back to review one of his favorite disks, "A Wizard A True Star" by the inventive Prog rock genius of the 1970's, Todd Rundgren. Tim gets nostalgic for the days when he composed the first music video of all time on his Apple II computer to Todd's "International Feel", the first indice (do NOT call them tracks!) on side one of this iconic record. Pay attention for a cameo by the inimitable George Carlin towards the end! #toddrundgren #progressiverock #awizaardatruestar #internationalfeel #utopia #justonevictory

Album Forensics volume two.  As the Beatles were putting the last touches on their breakthrough career and splintering in different directions,  John Lennon sailed away with Yoko Ono to form The Plastic Ono Band.  More than just a music venture,  the group was an art project incorporating a wide range of friends,  artists and musicians like Billy Preston and Ringo Starr.  Our returning guest this week is Dean Simone, who counts this album as one of his favorites of all time.  While we concentrate most of our time on music,  do not forget Dean's film "Game Day", currently available on Amazon Prime.  And watch for him in the upcoming HBO series "Winning Time".  We have friends in the biz!   #gameday #smokincobras #WinningTimeHBO #JohnLennon #TheBeatles #PlasticOnoBand #YokoOno

On January 12, 1968 Johnny Cash was at a crossroads in his legendary career.  Having reached the heights of stardom with songs like "Big River",  "Cry Cry Cry" and "Guess Things Happen That Way", the Man in Black was in jeapordy of riding off into the sunset" on a Tennesse Stud when Columbia Records relented to his request to record an album inside the walls of a hardened prison.  Johnny had been doing these shows for a decade,  and believed it was the perfect audience to catapult him into the next phase of his career.  On January 13,  he performed two shows in mess hall 2 of California's notorious Folsom Prison.  The recordings from those concerts turned out to be not only one of the greatest country music albums of all time,  but one of the greatest live albums of any genre.  This week an actual relative (by marriage) of Johnny joins us,  the inimitable TJ2 from the Rock and Roll Heaven Podcast,  to talk about the tremendous legacy of this album and his relative. #johnnycash #folsomeprisonblues #columbiarecords #folsomprison #walktheline #Jackson

Born in Lebanon and raised in Paris,  Jan Ash is a down to earth woman brining beautiful music to the sunny mountain sides of Los Angeles.  A fan of the most emotive R & B music of the late 90's and early 2000's,  Jen incorporates themes of love,  loss of love and bit of political commentary into her album "Crush On You".  Jen can be everything from a pop princes to a sultry chanteuse and make it all seem natural.

In 1966 director Hal Warren unleased "Manos The Hands of Fate" in a small theatre in El Paso,  Texas.  After a short run,  the film seemed to be lost to time until the iconic "Mystery Science Theatre 3000" found a copy and aired it for it's audience of acerbic,  riffing aliens.  One of the stars of the film happened to be watching that episode when she recognized her father,  her dog and herself magically in front of her eyes,  at long last reunited with a home movie to end all home movies.  In this episode,  Jackey Neyman discusses the strange stories behind what many consider the worst movie of all time,  a mantle she embraces with grace.  It is the second of our Halloween episodes!

Local historian Cam Miller grew up in Northern KY,  and spent a great deal of his summers riding his bicycle across the bridge to Riverfront stadium to watch his Cincinnati Reds establish themselves as the team of the 70's.  A former employee of the Reds Hall of Fame,  Cam translated his love for the game into a film about Crosley Field,  and now "Riverfront Remembered", a moving ode to the old "cookie cutter"  colosseum on the banks of the Ohio. We all saw the film,  and soon you can as well during a special screening at the hall later this month.  Be forwarned to bring something to dry your eyes...  #cincinnatireds #riverfrontstadium #cammillerfilms #joenuxhall #berniestowe #fortheloveofbaseball
