In part one of their Tom Petty Heavy Hitters episode TJ2 of the Rock and Roll Heaven Podcast challenged their listeners to come up with a set list for one of Tom’s pet projects, The traveling Wilburys. We thought about listing them on one of their social media sites. But as we reviewed The Traveling Wilburys Volume 1 and 3 and some of the non-Wilbury work the members of the super group produced, Sissi, Aaron and I decided to do a companion podcast with our own picks where we could talk about them. We navigated through some chaos and confusion about the nature of the task to come up with the following. Check the social media sites at the bottom for the complete lists...
Rules
-
- 4 songs from the two albums the group released as a band. Pretty
- 4 encores. This one really went sideways. Both Aaron and Lisa claim I did not make the encore stipulations clear, so I will take the blame. In the end, we did a composite of 4 tunes we all mostly agreed upon. But if there was one aspect of this homework assignment we failed it was this one.

YUH Episode 16 - Terri Milburn
My big sister is the snot nosed kid whisperer! As a kid, she would take me to the circus, Holiday on Ice at Cincinnati Gardens and Summer Fair, where she would show her mixed media artwork and macrome leatherwork alongside a collection of hippy friends straight out of the cast of "Hair". I idolized my sister Terri, and when she moved out (she wants to make sure you know a person of adult age CANNOT BY DEFINITIION "run away"!), I was kind of devastated. Among the things she left in her wake was a collection of priceless, porcelin Beatle Bobbleheads which I proceeded to destroy with extreme prejeduce... and a collection of vinyl albums that listened to while I missed her presence. In this episode, my amazing sister joins Lisa, Aaron and I to talk about those albums and all the memories that came with them.

Have you ever found yourself hanging around the dining room table with family and friends downing a few cold ones and waxing philopsical about anything, and suddenly it's 1am! Where did the time go? The memories and laughter keep you going until the next time you see one another. That is kind of what "Rock and Roll Heaven" sounds like when you first dive in. But when you take the journey down one of their epic heavy hitter episodes you soon realize that amid all the laughter and jokes, you have found a meticulous, immersive audible documentary of some of the greatest artists in the history of music. Lisa and I LOVE Rock and Roll Heaven, despite mashing up their name with one of their Pantheon co-horts. Plus some other memory gaffs through the course of the episode (womp womp). LD, Will The Thrill and TJ2 gave us and hour and a half of quality time recently, and it was an honor to feel like part of the "fam" for a little while. We hope you enjoy this week's conversational free for all as much as we did. It was fun to do!

Cervon Campbell joins us from South Carolina. Cervon has had a very interesting and diverse career in show business, including work in acting and standup comedy, having once opened for Dana Carvey. In recent years he has really concentrated on his music, culminating in projects like "Spose · Jacqui Siu · Schlee" and an upcoming collaboration with John Oates of Rock and Roll Hall of Fame super group "Hall and Oats"! Cervon incorporates pop melodies into his R$B sound in songs like "Again" and his duet "Grey" with Sydney Schizzano, both featured in this podcast. We are really starting to have a musical theme in our most recent podcasts, a trend that we certainly welcome. Cervon Campbell was a great interview and we hope you enjoy!

Born in Kingston Jamaica and raised in the Carribbean section of Brooklyn New York, Sim Campbell has poured all of his life's experiences into a career as an author and rapper. His book "The Factor: When Death Before Dishonor is Tested" is a gritty, realistic account of an explosive drug war reminiscent of "New Jack City", "Kings of New York" and "Boyz in the Hood". Sim's cinematic style and skills with dialogue give this book a page turning easiness, and many of the scenes involving the lead character Too-Real and the love of his life Vanessa are especially moving.
It is understandable in a world threatened by cyber attacks and identity theft that some people like to limit their internet interaction to people in their brick and mortar lives. We don't feel that way. Without the risk of venturing outside of your circles you may never get to meet some amazing people. Lisa and I met Jessica Brown on an internet messageboard. She is a decorated veteran of the National Guard, a trusted dba/technical advisor to a small company owned by her former colonel, a holder of multiple degrees, an expert in the world of computer gaming who has contributed to a couple successful technical podcasts and online business interests. Most impressively, she is mother to an amazing little girl. Jessica Brown is our first trangender friend. This episode focuses a lot on the topics of gender dysphoria, hormone therapy, gender reassignment surgery, LBGQT issues in the media and her personal life and some of the obstacles she has had to overcome during her transition. We both know you will find Jessica an engaging, down to earth woman well worth taking the time to know.
Note: Some of the language in this episode is explicit. It is intended for mature audiences.

Evelyn LaTorre's memoirs, "Between Inca Walls", is a fascinating account of a young woman with a taste for adventure and travel who joins the Peace Corp. She could not have known at the time where her decision to pick Peru as her first assignment might take her, but over fifty years later you get a real sense of her contentment and serenity during our discussion. Evelyn talks about her childhood growing up in rugged Montana, her move to the Golden State, the history of the Peace Corp, the influence of Covid on all our lives and her amazing family. Evelyn has another book on the way and we would love to have her back when that one drops.
This was a really fun show. Our co-hosts Aaron, Lou Diamond, the Cowboy and I have been obsessively listening to Cincinnati sports talk radio all of our lives. Flatbusher Andy Furman became a local media star on WLW "the Big One" after inheriting the nightly Sports Talk show from Chris Colinsworth. With his background in PR and Marketing, Andy brought an East Coast flair to the conservative Cincinnati air waves and helped re-shape the sports landscape with a series of unique promotions, storylines and appearances. Not one to back down from controversy, he ruffled a few feathers along the way as well. We greatly appreciate Andy's time and think you will enjoy listening to this one almost as much as we enjoyed cutting it!

Sherry Shriner fell under the spell of a charlatan televangelist, borrowed elements from the wacky orgone "science" of Wilhelm Reich and worked the devil and his underworld of reptilian warriors from hell into her strange brew of right wing conspiratorial nonsense. Author of "Dragged Into The Light", Tony Russo joins us this week to lift the lid on the Shriner cult, which is incredibly still thriving even after her death earlier this year. This ridiculousness is no laughing matter with a couple innocent people left dead in the wake of Shriner's reign of error. The suicide of Kelly Pingilly was a particularly sad example of what can happen when a cult leader plays games with real lives. A true cautionary tale for anyone who finds themself mesmerized by the dulcet tones of a nut.
