Today we wrap up “Ark week,” our celebration of the eight-year anniversary of the Ark Encounter. Now, we believe that the flood was a real historical event. And that’s because that’s how the Bible describes it!
In Genesis we’re told the flood covered every high mountain under the whole heaven. So, yes, it was a global event! And Jesus also affirmed the historicity of the flood.
He said his second coming will be like the days of Noah. People will be eating and marrying and then suddenly it will come—just as it did in Noah’s day. And Peter also makes a similar point in one of his epistles.
