    A: No wonder he threw a fit. His popularity is really a sore spot.

    B: Well, I guess I'll just keep my mouth shut. That'll teach me to give advice!

    A: Not unless you want to die!

    lose your temper v. to suddenly become very angry so that you cannot control yourself 发脾气

    I've never seen Vic lose his temper. 我从未见过维克发脾气。

    throw a fit: to be very angry or shocked 非常生气或震惊

    Your mother would throw a fit if she knew you were here. 你母亲要是知道你在这里准会非常生气。

    popularity n. quality or state of being liked or admired by many people 受大家喜爱或赞赏的性质或状态,声望

    His popularity among working people remains as strong as ever. 他在劳动人民中一如既往声望很高

    sore spot: something that is likely to make someone upset or angry when you talk about it 痛点
