Do we focus on one thing someone said and hold it against them forever…repeating it over and over again in our minds? Think of every circumstance that you thought was the most challenging. Those moments that seemed to drag on forever. When you look back on them now, you realized that they were just moments in time…not permanent.

That moment in childhood when you were caught lying or cheating…how did that change you?

The moment when you injured yourself doing something foolish…how did that change you?

There are challenging moments, but the point is that when you look back, it is not the challenge that defines the moment, but the lesson you took away from the challenge that defines that moment.

Time is the greatest teacher.

What is your stress response? What is your stress response? What is your “go to” response? What is your “go to” response? Do you respond differently in externally stressful circumstances? We do not want a life of miscellaneous moments, but we also want to enjoy the detours and distractions.
