Mat Lazenby is a creative director at design agency LazenbyBrown, based on the Shambles, which he co-founded with Gary Brown after working in senior creative positions for a number of agencies across York and Leeds.

As well as working on brand design projects for both local and national brands, Mat is a previous master of the guild of media arts and a champion for creativity, regularly speaking in schools and colleges.

In this episode we chat about education and how you teach children in environments that are constantly changing, about facing your fears and trying to improve the things you’re not good at, as well as York’s UNESCO designation and what that means for the city.

Bridget Bernadette Karn is an artist who has worked across a huge range of mediums, but over the last few years has gained worldwide recognition for her work making pictures out of felt, turning her passion into a full time business, selling her work and teaching her techniques.

She has exhibited at the Royal Academy of Arts Summer Exhibition in 2016, won the York Women Mean Business 'Made' Award and was a finalist for Best Visual Artist at the York Culture Awards in 2017.
