New Year, new episode! Ring in 2018 with us as we recount the tales of Alice de Janze, the socialite member of the Happy Valley set, who gained noteriety for her various scandalous affairs, the attempted murders (yes, that's plural) of her lovers, and her affinity for exotic pets (black panthers on a leash, anyone?), and Emily Warren Roebling, the woman behind the scenes during the construction of the Brooklyn Bridge, as well as several facilities and hospitals designed to help women at large. Here's to more betches and less BS in the new year!

Merry Christmas, betches! Join us as we discuss some Christmas chick-power folktales and traditions. Morgan talks about La Befana, the 'witch' version of Santa Claus who rides on a broom to deliver treats to children in the wee morning hours of January 6th (The Feast of the Epiphany), and Gryla, the old troll/Christmas monster/crazy cat lady. And Heather recounts the matriarchal tradition of Women's Little Christmas, an old Irish custom that celebrates the hard work of women during the holidays, as well as the women-driven abolitionist Christmas bazaars that helped shaped the holiday as we know it today.

This week, we discuss the founder of the American Red Cross, Clara Barton, an accomplished nurse and educator who helped identify over 20,000 missing/deceased soldiers after the Civil War, and "Doctor" Linda Hazzard, who basically killed a bunch of people by recommending fasting as a treatment for disease.

In Episode 16, Morgan recounts the tale of Khutulun, the Mongolian warrior princess who demanded that her suitors defeat her in wrestling to win her hand in marriage--none did, so she finally had to settle. Also, Heather tells the tragic and inspiring story of 'The Bad Girl of Rock and Roll,' Ronnie Spector, who was the lead singer of legendary 60's girl group, The Ronnettes, and managed to escape a hellish marriage and go on to become rock royalty and the queen of Christmas.

This week's edition features the influential designer and fashion icon, Mary Quant (the inventor of the miniskirt!)who was responsible for the iconic 60's 'mod' look, and Julie d'Aubigny (also known as Mademoiselle La Maupin), who was a skilled swordswoman and opera singer (and bisexual?), who kicked ass and took names all across 17th century France.

Listen up in Episode 14, as we tell y'all about Patty Hearst, who was supposedly kidnapped and brainwashed into robbing banks with the Symbionese Liberation Army, and Rue McClanahan, accomplished actress best known for playing sexy Southern belle, Blanche Devereaux, on the classic sitcom, 'The Golden Girls.'

This week's episode, lucky number 13, features Abigail May Alcott Nieriker, the accomplished artist who was the inspiration for the character Amy in her sister's classic novel, Little Women, and Sonya 'Golden Hand,' the foremost con artist in 19th century Russia, who escaped from prison on the reg. Boss betches.

This week's episode takes you back to the 1930's, to the world of Hedy Lamarr, the groundbreaking actress and acclaimed inventor, and Hanna Reitsch, a pioneering aviator who broke numerous gliding records, but was also (unfortunately) a test pilot for Germany during WWII. These betches DID some shit.

Our 11th episode showcases the crazy, sprawling story of Marita Lorenz, lover and would-be assasin of Fidel Castro, and Baroness Micaela Almonester, who overcame her oppressive martial circumstance to achieve greatness and wealth in 19th century Paris and New Orleans as a real estate shark.

This week's Halloween episode features the Chinese Empress Wu Zetian, who frequently called for the public suicide of her enemies, and 'Scream Queen' extraordinaire, actress/author/activist Jamie Lee Curtis. Happy Halloween, betches!
