The common misconception about a winner is that they never lose. A winner does lose, but each time they “lose” they see it as an opportunity to win again. I want you to win, but in order to win you must never give up. You have to go hard for what you want. As they say, “you gotta go hard in the paint.” When you go hard your "nays" will become "yays."
In the hit single, “Fly,” Rihanna belts, “I came to win, to fight, to conquer, to thrive. I came to win, to survive, to prosper, to rise.” You know, when I applied to Howard University I did not get in. I did not get accepted. Now, I could have used that “nay” as an opportunity to give up and walk away. However, I turned my “nay” into a “yay” by appealing their decision and I got accepted. Not only did I get accepted, but I also graduated with honors and hosted my graduation. How’s that for being a winner?
See, we are all winners. The moment you were conceived you were chosen to be a winner. There could have been millions of other beings that could have taken your place, but it was you that was chosen.
Now say it with me, “I came to win!”
