The gospel of Christ the good news proclaimed in the New Testament announces the reign of a new king who rules from his throne in heaven. This kingdom supersedes every political regime; it is a universal kingdom realized within the heart of every believer. King Jesus offers the only cure for man's deepest need, for the kingdom of Christ is a government of grace.
Every generation of God's people needs to rediscover the riches of this grace for themselves. Grace can create a radical change within our hearts, transforming the way we live, work, and worship. Grace certainly has much to do with salvation, but grace is not limited to the beginning of the Christian life. Grace is the lifeblood of the church, the unseen fuel for faithfulness.
A Graceful Uprising takes a closer look at the book of Romans, one of the greatest treasure troves of grace in the New Testament. The book of Romans is the Emancipation Proclamation of the church a document that describes the profound freedom enjoyed by the body of Christ. By tracing the scarlet thread of grace through Paul's monumental work, Jonathan Jones invites the church to rediscover the riches of grace once more.
In 16 text-centered chapters, Jonathan paints an enthralling portrait of a God who grants freedom and pardon through the priceless sacrifice of his son. A Graceful Uprising can restore the heart of every Christian and refresh the spirit of the church herself.

A "Church Kid" Review...
Like many who have "grown up in the Church", I have struggled with the concept of God's grace. Is God's grace really "enough", or do I need to "help Him out" with my salvation? What is the relationship between my "good works" and my salvation? Where does grace begin, and more importantly, where/when/how does it end? Regardless of what anyone may tell you, God's grace is NOT a "simple" concept when a person begins to study what Scripture has to say on the subject. In a vacuum, perhaps; but we don't live in a vacuum.
Jonathan's book has opened my eyes to things that I've been blindly and blankly staring at for decades. Obviously, this book reveals NOTHING that God's Word hasn't already revealed, yet his writing style and organization of such a complex epistle (Romans) is incredibly helpful. I appreciate his heart, his study, and the end result that can now help so many people see God's grace just a little more clearly. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who doesn't yet know our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. It will open your eyes to God's love and grace towards you. I would highly recommend this book to those who THINK that they know Him and yet still feel a "void" or a misunderstanding of how all of this stuff "works". I would finally recommend this book for those of us who know Jesus Christ, and simply want to know Him better.
Thank you, Jonathan, and thank you God.
God is good!
Jonathan Jones II has done a fantastic job shattering the notion that our salvation is based on our works. It is not something that can be earned, rather it is through God's grace that we are saved. Jones does a great job of explaining how grace sets us free from all guilt and shame from our previous lives before salvation.
