Since we couldn’t find any examples of women of color making these kinds of checks, we’re looking at someone who’s been a champion for pay equity in the industry: Viola Davis in 2018’s Widows. Directed by Steve McQueen, Widows tells the story of a group of women who all lose their significant others in a robbery gone wrong and are left behind to pick up the pieces in a storm of crime and corruption.
