I think everybody thought, even my family thought I was off the wall when I told them I was going to write a book because I'm not a writer. I'm a hockey instructor, so me being a writer was just so off the wall and it was such an odd concept for me to ... Everyone was like, "Okay, you're gonna write a book?" I'm like, "Yeah, because I feel like it."

What I bring that is different is, I bring the reality of who I am first. Then we get into the personal development, because I want you to be comfortable with me as a person. I am a literal person. Doing this interview now, this is me. This is reality. This is real. This is who I am.

Absolutely. It's an exciting process when you can take a person and actually sit down with them and get to the bottom of what's been bothering them, what they're passionate about, how to find their passion, and really, really hone in on that skill set or that gift that they have. It's an amazing experience.

"In the province of my mind are mind over limitless, so what else is possible?" I have a big sign as I glance over here in my office, and I always ask myself that, "What else is possible?" I've seen it in my own life. Where like, "Okay, I have this little goal." And boom, something else pops out, which was better than I could have even imagined.

You don't need to spend $20,000 for a weekend course to get good information. And sometimes that information isn't even good information. And that only happens when the real estate market is super, super hot, where, which I believe, where I am right now, it is.

Maybe it's a marathon, not a sprint, and I would just open people's eyes to the fact that what your true purpose is ... There's ways to look at so many things.

I think looking at the tough things and really getting into things and maybe helping people with that as well can help us actually take action, be aware, pay attention to details and actually do the steps we need to do to succeed, whatever that means to whoever is listening.

When I was in the, uh, job market, I just didn't fit anywhere. I always felt like I thought outside of the box, I was always an independent thinker, I didn't follow the crowd. I was more of a contrarian, and that's what started me on starting my own business.

So, there was always some writing, but it really was after the events of 9/11 when I felt compelled to get all of my thoughts and observations as what they were calling back then a 9/11 family member, down into a book. So, that was the impetus for the first book.
