Every year in this country we all wait to hear the State of the Union Address. This is followed by each party trying to explain how they interpreted this speech to show how they should trust or not trust the plans of our officials in Washington. I thought we could take some creative license and do our own state of the union address. This has grown into a bigger topic then I first thought and so we are going to cover this in sections over the next few weeks. The first section is going to cover our leadership. For those of you that have your opinions on political issues this should be a great topic to discuss and hear thoughts on our leadership in the USA. I feel blessed to live in the best country in the world when it comes to having things, freedoms, and a foundation of faith. A lot of this is based on opinion but there is a lot of reference information where you can get real numbers on things as they really are. The only way this show is going to be a success is to have everybody take part.

I am the prime example of a parent that did everything the wrong way. But I am sure that there are many of you that feel you have learned some great parenting concepts that you can share with all of the rest of us. The one thing I can tell you for sure is that for me boys are much easier to understand and raise then girls. I do not remember all of the drama with everything when I was a little girl. With all of the preachers, teachers, and councilors that listen to the show I hope that we all come away from this show with more knowledge then we had before the show.

The show is open tonight for you to share your insights on previous show topics or to even talk about current events. Things like the oil spill, politics, the economy, our boarders, and even immigration reform. All we ask is that you be polite of the other callers and remember this is a family show.

We have had the question come up on if you need to go to church and do you really need a pastor? To cover this topic I have asked Blog Talk Momma to help us. The school of thought that have seen is that people that go to church say yes you do need a church and pastor to grow. Those that have left a church for any reason seem to be on the fence or on the other side of this discussion. Should be a great show as always.

We have avoided this topic for a while but in view of the topics over the last few weeks we have escalated the show to where we need to take a real look and see if there is a special plan we are supposed to follow to be saved that is established for everybody. For this topic we want your thoughts but would love you to share scripture from the KJV on how you come up with your thoughts. If salvation is supposed to be a personal thing between man and God then would you not think that it is not meant to put everybody into the same box on what is expected? I have my thoughts on this topic but as with all things on this show we can all grow if we take the time to open up and listen. I will tell you that I know I do not have all of the answers. I have grown more from hearing other thoughts on this show in my walk with God. It is my hope that you will have the same results.

What should you be doing to truly be classifid as a Christian? I heard a sermon once on if you were arrested for being a christian could you be convicted based on the evidence of your life. By what standard would we judge ourselves? I think that at times we sort of make up our own rules of right and wrong. But for a christian do we make up our own pattern of what it really means to be a christian? Things like all of the political languange people use at church functions to me is a sign that we are missing the mark. Like this last Sunday a preacher that I had never met before told me that the President gets a scripture message from one of the big name christian preachers. He gave me a name but can't remember what it was. I thought that was pretty neat but then he said that he also gets the same thing based on the Koran. Then for 15 minutes he kept on about how bad this was for a christian nation to have a leader that would take anything from the Koran. I spent ten minutes or less of looking on the www and I found that this is another rumor that has been going on since before he was elected President that is not true. Is it only a lie if we do not think is an untruth? Does the Bible not say that all liars shall have their place in the lake of fire? Maybe it is a one time thing where we confess our sins in prayer (repent) and then we just live life trying to do the best we can? One thing I want to make clear. This show is not about what is the process of having our sins taken away. We are looking for what happens after that process that makes you different then those who do not claim to be a christian. What is your responsibility to God to be judged a christian after your commitment or repentance is made to God. Look forward as always your thoughts on this topic.

I was the first graduate from the Jesus Name Christian School in Beebe, Arkansas. The school is now called Lighthouse Christian Academy. It is hard to believe that it has been 37 years since I graduated from that school. We recently had a reunion on the 12 of June. A lot of people have different schools of thoughts on if private schools like this are better or not for the children. Also what does it mean for the kids with their futures. This week we have opened up the floor for those at the reunion to share a story of interest to them and get their thoughts on Christian schools.

You cannot listen to the news without hearing about another natural disaster happening around the world. Then you add the news about violent crimes like the kids killed in kindergarten the other day. The weather patterns and global warming has become the joke of the day but the weather is not normal. Is all of this signs of the end of days as talked about in the bible? Some people say that the world has gotten smaller with cable television and the world wide web. Others think that the world goes through the same cycles over and over as a warning to each generation that the end is going to come. I know as a kid that thinks like this had little meaning to me. As I get older I am concerned for other people and what is happening to people all over this world. What do you think about what is happening? I do not know if I have said it on this show but it does not matter if God is coming back 100 years from now. I will not live that long and so for me this world is going to end much sooner. Should make a great discussion. Hopefully as always we will learn something from each other.

We have discussed the mystery of the God-head, and who Jesus is in two previous shows. Tonight We are looking at the Holy Ghost or the Holy Spirit. Is this just another part of the God-head? There is scripture that talks about this as a gift from God to us. There is also discussion on if this gift in our lives is needed for salvation. How can you tell if you have this gift working in your life? As always looking for a great discussion as we all try to get closer to God.

With Memorial day coming up we want to take this time to let people call in and share a memory of a lost loved one to pay respect to those that are no longer with us. The loss of a friend or loved one is hard for all of us. With time there are parts of them we remember but there are other parts that slip away with time.
