So, what is it that we are avoiding and how is that lie keeping us from living the life Jesus created for us?

Today I am so excited to have Dr. Saundra Dalton-Smith back on the podcast to talk about her new book, “Set Free to Live Free - Breaking Through the 7 Lies Women Tell Themselves.” 

She explains that mental lies are like bacteria that have gained access through an open wound, and that it is time to start treating it! 

• Perfection 
• Envy 
• Image 
• Balance 
• Control
• Emotions
• Limits

I will look at the lie I struggle with the most, LIMITS.  Dr. Saundra explained to me that I limit what I ask God for based on what I think I deserve. - OUCH!  She also shares 5 stages of freedom within each of the lies! 

Dr. Saundra leaves us with a Free Woman’s Creed and invites us to become a member of the Diamond Society, giving us the special criteria!

Do you make New Year resolutions or do you choose a word of the year? 

I know I used to make resolutions that looked beautiful on paper but faded away after a few months. I now choose a word of the year and a Bible verse, and this year I chose the word “restore” and Isaiah 40:31.

“But those who trust in the LORD will renew their strength; they

will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not become

weary, they will walk and not faint.” Isaiah 40:31

In today’s episode, I process how I use my word of the year. I apply my word daily by asking these questions:

As we step into a new season and a new year, I pray that when the enemy comes to throw you off your game, you remember to pull out your game-winning card and claim your promises.

This will take strategy and a real game plan. Maybe even a word of the year or a specific verse can give you the focus you're looking for.

FREEDOM!

As a teenager, I couldn’t wait to leave home and finally have “my freedom.” 

When I finally got the freedom I thought was out there in the real world, I discovered something I hadn’t expected:  my freedom came with a lot of responsibility. 

I began longing to go back home where my parents took care of the responsibilities — especially at Christmas.

Like me, God’s children wanted their freedom.  They, too, quickly learned that life outside of the protection of home was not what they'd expected.

In the final episode of this 4-part series, I’m excited to explore how much God is longing to welcome us back home.

Ever since Adam and Eve left Eden, at the very core of God’s plan for Christmas has been His desire for us to be back home in heaven with Him.

What kind of gift-receiver are you? 

Do you receive a gift with gratitude?  Do you use it with the enthusiasm  that the giver anticipated when selecting that gift — just for you? 

It’s just over a week until Christmas, and I can hardly wait to have my kids home and watch them open the gifts that I have picked out for them.

Of course, we all know that the reason for the season is the ultimate gift: Jesus. And I also believe that God enjoys our enjoyment  as we watch our loved ones open the gifts we've given them. 

In today’s episode I talk about how we can joyously unwrap the gifts that God gives us and use them to worship Him.

If you were waiting for a new king to come to earth,wouldn’t you expect him to show up ready for action?

Many years ago, God’s people wanted an avenger to arrive and save the day..

So, why would the Son of God come as an infant?

In order for God to make a full sacrifice for us, He chose to come into the world like us.

‘Home for the holidays’ – whether we go home or our family members come home – is the heart's deepest desire of the season. 

Today and the next three weeks, I’ll be sharing God’s Plan For The Best Christmas Ever.

This Episode starts with excitement of Jesus' birth. 

The pages of the Bible can hardly contain all the excitement around the birth of Christ: the angels singing, the shepherds in shock, the star shining the glory, and the wise men traveling, all part of the story that I remember picturing as a child. 

As a mother, I love how we are told in Luke 2:18-19 that all who heard were amazed at what the shepherds told them. 

But Mary was treasuring up all these things in her heart and meditating on them.

Today I will share a fresh perspective on the word treasure.
To treasure something is to keep it from perishing.

For God Treasured you so much, He sent His son!

I am so excited to have my friend Amy Connell back on the show as we celebrate the launch of her first book: Your Worthy Body: Finding Freedom In Health by Breaking All The Rules.

Amy’s message of loving the body that God gave you and being able to break the rules that society tells us are for a one size fits all has been the grace I need to give myself.

I love November. This month of gratitude is my favorite of the year. In fact, gratitude is my word of the year for 2021. After all my family went through in 2020, I’ve had a lot to be thankful for in 2021.
I started my year of gratitude with a gift from a good friend, a beautiful Christmas ornament accompanying a card that read “Gratitude enables our hearts to tell a better story.”

There are many ways you can let someone know what they do, what they give, or what they say to you, made a difference for you. and letting them know is a gift in and of itself.

I want to stop today and say thank you to you, the listeners. Thank you for taking the time to give me the gift of your kind words.
I have my share of hard days, and whenever a comment, an email, a message, or a review comes through, I’m reminded of God’s love working through my listeners.
In this episode I will read a few of those comments as my way of saying thank you, and to let you know that I do read your words.
As we begin the holiday season, continue to give the gift of gratitude.
Be the person who stops to let someone know that what they did, what they said, or simply who they are to you has made a difference.
I know that your gratitude will enable the hearts of everyone involved to tell a better story.
