Exercising has been a part of my daily routine for years. It’s a part of my self-care and I love it. Recently, I went about a week and a half without working out at all, and here’s what I didn’t feel:
I didn’t feel guilt or shame for not sticking to my routine. I didn’t feel disappointed that I didn’t do my workout routine.
I didn’t tell myself that I should have worked out.
It had been a while since I felt motivated to actually get up earlier and do a full 40-minute workout class. And I feel completely fine about it. I am so glad that I can be in tune with what my body needs. What my body needed was a time of rest. I needed the extra sleep those days.
