    You're Probably Right Podcast.
Meta Description: In this episode of the You're Probably Right podcast, we explore the relationship between education support staff and unions. We discuss the problems with how unions operate, and how they often don't show respect for their members.
The Canadian Union of Public Employees do not feel valued. Staff feels overworked and underpaid. The unions do very little in conflict resolutions and often make Staff feel like they are alone. Unions often work as though they are in cahoots with the Boards. average compensation for support staff is $25 per hour while teachers' average pay is above 70,000 per year. support staff who work for over 10 years can easily be paid the same as new staff just coming in from college or Univesity unlike the proper incrementally pay raises of Teachers.  Supports staff
Educational assistants are a vital part of the education system, providing support to teachers and students alike. Governments need to pay them properly in order to attract and retain the best employees. Currently, many educational assistants are paid minimum wage or just above, which is not a livable wage in most areas. This means that they are struggling to make ends meet, which can impact their work performance. Additionally, low salaries make it difficult to attract and retain good educational assistants, leading to increased turnover rates and higher costs for school districts. By paying educational assistants a fair wage, governments can improve the quality of education while also saving money in the long run.

  • Life as an Education assistants
Don't try to read this it is just a test no edit transcribed by Microsoft word  for Analytical purposes  only
I mean the average adult knows how bad they behaved in school and just to know that somebody is getting paid not very handsomely to take care of students who are not always well behaved or you know standing outside for 15 minutes at lunch. I mean educational assistance have to do it for the whole every break so if it's let's just say it's winter time and yes in Ontario there is winter 'cause it's like six months out of the year weather is jacket weather or worse and these people have to go outside with the kids who are playing in the snow sure playing in the snow at 12 years old is different from standing in snow at 40 or 45 or 50 and not playing the snow just keeping your eye on other peoples children so why don't these people get paid better nobody knows they look at the education and say OK well teachers have education well teachers in most cases have an undergrad a lot of them have a masters and they go to teacher college or they don't have a masters you can slide in with an undergrad and you can go to teachers college you can slide in with some different courses there's different ways to get in in many cases some of these people have maybe two years more of education not necessarily experience 'cause I've seen very many educational assistance help teachers if you want to say help but a lot of time no more sometimes you go in a classroom and shocking not only because the teacher is humble which is nice to see but oftentimes the educational assistant knows more in various areas and topics than the teacher does and it's beautiful to see when teachers have respect for their assistance in their rooms and they don't try to teach treat them as the hired help of the schools and they are included but that's not usually the case the parents Oh yeah the parents usually love the educational assistance 'cause they help out with their students as do the ECS that work in the student this schools as well there early childhood education workers and teachers they do a lot but the younger ones but again their educational assistance there underneath the kewpie so I just want to talk about that for a little bit

    1. THE OFFENDER: THE GUY WHO IGNORES YOUR TEXTS AND CALLS. WHAT TO WATCH FOR: HIS COMMUNICATION HABITS.A guy should respond to your texts or calls within a reasonable time frame. If he’s taking an unusually long time to get back to you or ignoring some of your attempts to reach out altogether cut bait. Nothing good comes from a guy who can’t even push some buttons on a phone for you. In fact, you shouldn’t be messing with someone who isn’t regularly initiating communication with you. Yes, there are guys who do that. You want one of them
    4. THE OFFENDER: THE GUY WITH TERRIBLE CONFLICT MANAGEMENT SKILLS. WHAT TO WATCH FOR: HIS TEMPERAMENT.Be wary if he loses his temper easily or has a tendency to get defensive when you try to work through issues. A good guy will take an interest in your needs, listen to you when you have something to say, and communicate productively with you even when he doesn’t agree. That guy’s hot, not the one who bitches, shouts, and throws stuff around.
