Another "bonus" pod here people!!!  We were fortunate enough to sit down with Coach Ryan Hybl at the OU Golf facilities earlier this week to preview the fall 2021 golf season, Coach's expectations for this upcoming season, and get an update on the squad!  Coach was gracious enough to share a full hour of his time and we addressed all sorts of topics, ranging from his summer golf outings, OU's move to the SEC, and how the new NIL rule changes are impacting college golf.  Another great interview here for everyone--especially Sooner fans--to enjoy!

It was 50/50, but the guys decided to return home from their trip to Bandon Dunes so despite it being a day later than normal, they're back in the studio!  Things start with a recap of the last major of the calendar year, the AIG Women's Open Championship, where Carnoustie served up some "hard-to-watch" drama on the 18th (72nd) hole yet again, ensuring Sweden's Anna Nordqvist of her 3rd major championship!  We had more playoff (PLAYOFFS?!?!) drama in the first leg of the FedEx Cup Playoffs with Tony Finau finally (after 1,975 days) breaking the "Curse of Puerto Rico" and getting his 2nd PGA Tour victory at the Northern Trust!  And while we're a still a few weeks away, the guys take a sneak peek at the current Ryder Cup standings and play "Steve Stricker for a Day" and make their selections for the team for next month's Ryder Cup at Whistling Straits.  Lastly, the guys ever-so-softly "tease" the recap of their recent trip to Bandon Dunes with a special "bonus pod" coming soon that will break down the entire trip, highlights and low-lights, do's and don'ts, and what the guys would (will) do differently the next time!  All that, and so much more on this week's YSO podcast!!!

IT'S BANDON DUNES WEEK BABY!!!  Before the guys get to a very long-winded preview of their upcoming Bandon Dunes trip this week, they start with recapping a roller-coaster of a 2021 US Amateur at Oakmont!  The guys then talk about Kevin Kisner's playoff (Playoffs?!?!?) victory at the Wyndham, and compare/contrast the LPGA's Ryan O'Toole with Richard "Big Dick" Bland, and they have more in common than you might think... Next, the guys preview the Women's Open Championship at Carnoustie ("Carnasty") and they make their picks for the last major of the season for the LPGA... What a week it must have been in golf whenever Nelly Korda winning the Olympic golf medal doesn't even make the title line for this episode!  We start off recapping Abe Ancer's first PGA tour victory at the WGC-FedEx St. Jude's in Memphis in dramatic playoff fashion, while also noting some massive blow-ups down the stretch which made for "great theatre"... Next, we talk some ladies' golf, with Nelly proving why she's ranked No. 1 in the world, and we also mention a big upset at the US Women's Am this weekend.  And speaking of the US Amateur, we bring on 2-time Slumpbuster Cup (now, the Congregation) champion, John "Zimm" Zimmerman, to give us an inside look at Oakmont and what the amateurs are going to be up against this week in what is a grueling test of golf!  Keith then takes us through his trip to Boiling Springs, gives us some first impressions, and the guys talk about why it's getting so much "pub" right now as it is truly a unique setting for Oklahoma golf!  All that, plus we make some picks and previews for the Wyndham Championship, the last "regular" stop on this season's PGA Tour calendar!

The guys were "live" at Lincoln Park Golf Course in OKC all weekend long for the LP Club Championship and what a great time we had!!  Our man J-Teal gets a trophy (sort of), we had a 2-hole "sudden death" playoff for the Open Division title, we saw a hole-in-one from a "Super Senior", and our new biggest fan, Todd, was on the loose holing out for eagle left-and-right!!!  It was truly a "Championship Sunday" we won't soon forget, and bit thanks to Aaron Kristopeit, Steve Carson and the entire LP team for hosting us and putting on a top-notch event!  In other golf news, Xander Schauffele is now an Olympic golf medalist, Rory (not that one) wins the silver for Slovakia (??), and we had even more playoff drama for the bronze medal, won eventually by a pod favorite, the "Bread Man"!  Annika Sorenstam has still got "it" at 50, a Stanford man wins the Western Am, and you may have heard something about OU and texass heading for the SEC, but what does that mean for their college golf programs?!?!?  All that, and so much more on this week's YSO podcast!!!
