Oh man, what a week in golf!!!  We obviously start with Phil's historic win down in Kiawah as "Lefty" was able to fend off both Louie and Brooks (and the crowds) to claim his 6th major, joining some truly elite golfers in the process!  We take a deep dive into all of the story lines from the year's 2nd major, and then we turn our attention out west to talk some Cowgirl golf as OSU's ladies make it to the match-play portion of the NCAA Championships as a #3 seed with a real shot to win the whole thing!  And of course, we discuss the Sr. PGA Championship taking place up the turnpike in Tulsa this week at the amazing place that is Southern Hills CC!  Lastly, we look ahead to the Charles Schwab Classic taking place down at Colonial CC in Fort Worth with a "better-than-expected" field slated to tee 'em up in the DFW this weekend!  Plus, we throw out some "Fairway Files" from our own action-packed (and incredibly wet) week in golf!  All that, and much more on this week's YSO podcast!

The guys drop a "late Sunday night" pod for the first time, as they recap the Walker Cup victory for Team USA, including an absolute boat-race victory in the singles match play by OSU's Austin Eckroat!  We talk stomach bugs, Seminole's "crispy" greens, and whether the pookah-shell necklace can make a comeback as well!  Next, J-Teal can't wait to shower praise on his boy, Rory McIlroy, as he steps back into the winner's circle after a long drought at the Wells Fargo at a very tough Quail Hollow this week!  Local guys, Abe Ancer & Vik Hovland, played their part, while Bryson DeChambeau adds to the lore of the "Big Golfer" with some logistical errors on Friday evening.  The guys look ahead to the NCAA golf regionals, talk "TopGolf Live" at OU's Memorial Stadium, and make a quick look ahead to the Byron Nelson this week down in McKinney, Texas!  All that, and so much more on this week's YSO podcast!

It's time for some high school golf state championships!!  The Oklahoman's Cameron Jourdan joins us to talk a little Oklahoma high school golf, as the girls state championships just wrapped up and the boys championships will take place on May 10th & 11th!  Cameron provides us some real insight into the top individual high school golfers in our state, plus who the "teams to beat" will be for the boys' championships next week!  He also talks about some of the wild/crazy stuff he's scene at some of the high school golf tourneys he's covered over the past couple of years, plus he plays a round of the "Short Par 4" with the guys!  Really good stuff, and just another example of why Oklahoma truly is a "golf state"!!  

What a show the Big 12 Mens' golf squads put on for us up in Hutch last week!  We take a deep dive into the Big 12 recap, including interviews from OSU's Alan Bratton and OU's Ryan Hybl & Quade Cummins!  A great event with tons of drama on the final hole!  We next turn our attention to this weekend's Walker Cup down at Seminole GC in Florida, which will feature four (4) Big 12'ers, including Quade Cummins and OSU's Austin Eckroat!  J-Teal then takes us through his visit with the OKGCSA folks out at Boling Springs on Monday, May 3rd, and he was able to snag a few minutes with Indian Springs' GC Superintendent, David Jones, before his round at Boiling Springs, marking his last stop on his personal quest to play every, single golf course in the State of Oklahoma!  All that, plus Wells Fargo picks/best bets at what we think is going to happen at Quail Hollow this weekend!!!

Slightly different feel and sound to this special pod gang, but we hope you like it!  J-Teal and Keith recap their recent visit to Cedar Creek Golf Course in Beaver's Bend State Park in the Broken Bow/Hochatown area of southeast Oklahoma, and what a trip it was! A fantastic piece of property that surely won't be a "hidden gem" for much longer given the recent work/upgrades that have went into the course.  We speak with Lt. Governor Matt Pinnell, Chief Gary Batton of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma, and Colton Craig, the golf architect responsible for the recent course changes and re-design.  Special thanks to those three gentlemen, and a special thanks to fellow YSO team members Scott Gurss and Chad Ford for making the trip down to southeast Oklahoma with us!  A really fun pod, great people, and a golf course we won't soon forget!!

It was about time for another MEGA-POD and you're gonna love this one!  Dayton "Sweet D" Rose joins us to talk Big 12 golf, Prairie Dunes and what it was like to play golf at OSU under Mike Holder! We start this pod off with a quick recap on the week that was, including Keith's +900 pick of Cam Smith/Marc Leishman to win the Zurich and a tip o' the cap to Canadian Brooke Henderson on her big win in the LA Open. The guys then give a quick preview/tease of their Cedar Creek loop at Beaver's Bend State Park (full podcast to come on that later in the week) and J-Teal tells us about an "Oklahoma victory" at Dornick Hills in the R4 event from this past Saturday!  But this pod is all about college golf, and Dayton shares some incredible stories from his playing career, including a few from Prairie Dunes and some "Augusta-tangential" ones as well!  There were definitely a few "cold pops" consumed during this interview gang, so sit back, crack a cold one yourself, and enjoy!

Another special YSO "interview" pod, and this time we're fortunate enough to spend an hour with golf architect--and Oklahoma native--Colton Craig! Colton was a great sport as our "studio" for this one was the back of an RV in Hochatown, Oklahoma, on the eve of the big re-opening of Cedar Creek Golf Course in Beaver's Bend State Park! We talk golf course design, how Colton got into golf architecture and our shared affinity for all things Perry Maxwell. Colton also gives us the inside scoop on some of his other pending projects, including Park Mammoth in western Kentucky, as well as his upcoming book on the life and course of Mr. Maxwell.  All that, and much more, on what is quite possibly the greatest golf podcast ever recorded in the Hochatown RV park!  #slot17
