We're a day late, thanks to America's birthday, but J-Teal and I get together remotely for a late-nighter to talk Cam Davis and "playoff golf" in Detroit, JYK's victory on the LPGA tour, and we gloss over a boringly unwatchable "the Match" on TNT while recording.  Given it was a relatively "light" week on the big tours, we talk about our golf outings over the holiday weekend, and give big props to our man, J-Hopp, making the cut on the Oklahoma Mid-Am tour!!  There's plenty of mosquito talk as well, which likely isn't as big of a problem across the pond this weekend at the Scottish Open, where J-Teal thinks Rory will win, but still somehow choke...  We also talk a little John Deere Classic in the Quad Cities area, and then J-Teal tells us all about a big name change for his annual passion project, which will be coming up October 1 - 3, for those who are counting (and we know you all are)... It's another "post-major" let-down week, but the guys are still amped up to recap the KPMG PGA Championship and Nelly's rise to the World No. 1 in women's golf!  It was a valiant--yet slow--effort from Lizette Salas, in what was essentially a two-horse race down in Atlanta!  On the PGA side, it was another two-horse race, but this was a marathon and not a sprint, as Harris "F-ing" English held off UT's Kramer Hickock in an epic, eight-hole playoff to win the Traveler's Championship up in CT!!!  Plus, we talk some Euro Tour action as Oklahoma State's Vik Hovland wins the BMW in Munich (without the eye patch) and we talk local golf, as a few friends of the pod made a good account of themselves in last week's OGA Stroke Play Championship held at "the Jimmie" in Norman!  All that, plus picks/best bets for the Rocket Mortgage Classic in Detroit this weekend, which J-Teal will have you know, is actually slightly north of the Canadian border (shout out to all our listeners in Windsor)!!!  Enjoy this week's YSO podcast, and happy birthday, 'Murrica!!!

Special "interview" podcast here, with Oklahoma State Cowgirl golfers, Maja Stark and Isabella Fierro!!!  We were fortunate enough to spend 30-40 minutes with each lady and talk about the 2020-2021 season for the Cowgirls, what it was like competing in the NCAA Championships at Grayhawk, and how their "international paths" brought them to Stillwater from Sweden and Mexico, respectively!  Great interviews and insights into what it's really like to be a college golfer at THE #golfschool, playing Karsten Creek from the tips, and their future plans for the LPGA tour!  Plus, you get some bonus "Ice Age" impressions and nickname discussions from Isa at the end!  Great stuff and we hope you enjoy listening to their stories as much as we did!

Hooray, it's our 40th episode!!! (Not really if you count all the bonus episodes and interview specials, but still...) The guys are out in Scottsdale for the NCAA Men's Golf Championship as both OU and OSU make it to match play!  The final day of stroke play was tough on both sides, but OSU makes the cut as the #2 seed while OU checks in as the #4 seed, respectively.  The guys also do a quick recap of Alex Cjeka's big win at Southern Hills, Ally Ewing's match-play win at Shadow Creek, and how "Spieth is gonna Spieth" each and every Sunday on the PGA tour, with a nod to "big boy" Jason Kokrak for winning at Colonial!  More to come this week with the NCAA match play recaps, plus a preview of the Women's US Open at Olympic in San Fran-freakin-Cisco!!
