You’re Tall but I’m Standing in Front of You

We discuss Paul Thomas Anderson's One Battle After Another (2025) and discuss some life/pod changes. See you in December for Cameron Christmas!

Ethan and Devin dove into the summer box office with 2025's Superman and The Fantastic Four: First Steps. They discuss the films' differing responses to the (potentially, hopefully?) growing superhero exhaustion, liberal technocracy vs. dumb guy morality, and the power of productive incoherence.

In this special episode, Ethan and Devin are joined by critic and author Will Sloan to discuss his new book, Ed Wood: Made in Hollywood USA and Wood's iconic "worst film of all time," Plan 9 from Outer Space (1957). They discuss what it means to reinterpret Wood as more than simply a bad director while exploring the film's the outsider aesthetics and prescient politics.

Ethan and Devin honor their non-James Cameron fathers in this special Father's Day episode. We watched "Viking Bikers from Hell" (S3E22 of Miami Vice) and the made-for-TV film The Winter of Our Discontent. Why in the world did they do this? Listen to find out.

Featuring a brief interview with Papa Stale.

Happy holidays from the folks at You're Tall but I'm Standing in Front of You! We celebrate the end of a terrible year and the conclusion of season 4 by finally venturing into one of the few corners of James Cameron's oeuvre we've left untrodden. That's right: we recorded a watchalong discussion of Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991), featuring repeated guest Catie and Devin's mysterious new girlfriend Slug. It's a Cameron Christmas!

We're now on vacation, but WE'LL BE BACK for the 2nd annual live Oscars twitch stream on March 2nd to kick off season 5. Hasta la vista, baby.
