Well, the NFL season ended around halftime of the Philadelphia Eagles' Super Bowl LIX drubbing of the Kansas City Chiefs, but that is also when my 2025 fantasy football season commenced! Good news, everyone. We have another baby on the way! Good news for everyone except my 3-year-old, that is. He's still undecided. I talk about his excitement, his occasional outbursts, his latest regression, and what we plan to do about it. I also talk about my sympathetic pregnancy, weight gain, alcohol intake, and whatever else expectant fathers have to contend with. Couvade, so sad? Not this Dad. I'm over the moon! I just gotta avoid starting to resemble the moon. All that and more on a jam-packed show!

Well, it's been a long month of fits and starts and not a single 5-day school week for my kid! Sick days, snow days, a holiday two weeks after returning from *THE* Holidays, and my kid kinda sorta put my car in the shop. 2025 is really stumbling out of the blocks, and all I can do is make fun of it.

I spent this past week reading The Fountainhead by Ayn Rand, and all it made me think of is today's Internet filled with angry young boys and men. And that got me thinking about what I can do to prevent my son from turning into one of them. Weird episode, weird subject, but hey, parenting is weird I guess. Also, there is still some funny in this episode, which is more than I can say for The Fountainhead!

I finally won the title in my long-running league for the first time in 2024, and I make the case for why I owe it all to being a dad, even though everyone else in the league is a dad too. Just in time for the holidays, it's...a review of the holidays! Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas have taken on new meaning now that my kid is old enough to really experience them for the first time, and I share some observations, as well as a truly unhinged take that I didn't have when I started the episode but that came to me by the end. Namely, that I don't think Santa Claus is going to survive this current generation of toddlers.

I'm finally working out with barbells like a grownup! But I didn't just wise up and start doing the thing I should have been doing. Of course there has to be a story for how I eventually arrived at what is an obvious conclusion for everyone else. This is that story. Listen up and enjoy!

I try to explain my absence from podcasting without actually saying anything, and then think out loud about how mightily I have struggled with this completely voluntary, arguably unnecessary project, weigh the pros and cons of trying to persevere at something so superfluous, and decide what life lessons there are in this that I can one day share with my kid.
