Jenni Smith joins Zain and MJ to chat about her latest single, “Mirror”, a track inspired by a surprisingly funny and all too relatable story. It all began with Jenni’s mum, who never stops comparing her to famous brunettes like Anne Hathaway, Emma Watson, and Keira Knightley. While Jenni never quite saw the resemblance, it sparked a curious thought: if people really do look alike, what happens when someone moves on… with someone who looks just like their ex?
From that amusing idea, “Mirror” was born, a playful, witty song that digs a little deeper than first impressions. Beneath the humour, it explores themes of identity, comparison, and the universal desire to feel truly irreplaceable.
With a music video proudly supported by NZ On Air, the story comes to life on screen, blending lighthearted moments with a touch of vulnerability that perfectly matches the heart of the track.
Welcome to Midweek Mayhem, our weekly check-in where we spill the tea and chat about what’s happening before the main event. We keep it 100% real: no edits, no scripts, just full go from start to finish.
