As a self proclaimed 'worst blind man in the world', Oli shares with Zelda the highs and lows, funny moments and challenging realities of navigating his new normal
Oli lost his sight in his left eye when he was a child but continued to excel in life, learning to drive, playing sport, and working as Secondary School PE teacher. In November 2022, when he was 29, Oli noticed a mist in his right eye and decided to get it checked out. After 18 months of complex medical treatment, 4 corneal transplants, an eye collapse, retinal detachment and a rare infection thrown into the mix, he was told by the doctor in May 2024 that his new found blindness was permanent.
