Absolutely all of us have stressors throughout the day, throughout our lives. However, there are ways to alleviate those stressors. The fact that you are reading this means you have found one of them. ZEN commuter's main purpose is to help people become calmer and more centered. Today's episode is no exception. Everyone has heard of venting, letting off steam. However, many people misunderstand the concept. Many people go off on a tirade and just attribute it to venting, leaving the people around them shell-shocked. Today I talk about three effective ways to vent that will leave you calmer and those around you unphased.

Yesterday I talked about how to remove yourself from conversations with negative people. These conversations were with casual acquaintances, one offs, meetings you have infrequently or possibly never again.
The goal was to help you first determine how to spot negative participants before they end up with you in a conversation, and the other was to find ways to leave if the conversation already started.
I want to help you begin to set yourself up with a positive group of people. However, sometimes the people that are negative are people we see every day, perhaps family friends or coworkers. How do you deal with them? I will talk about that today.

For you to be your best you need to surround yourself with people who are positive and life affirming. Each of us can make choices to select people that add to our lives. However, as much as we may try to preen the group of people we meet in the day, invariably there will be some people who simple don't understand how negative they are being.
Today I want to talk about ways to remove yourself from conversations that turn negative, or are very negative from the start.

I have dedicated many episodes in part or in full to the benefits of sleeping. I have also talked about the benefits of a morning routine. However, one of the ways to start getting up early is to get up the same time every day, and the same goes for going to bed.
Even though I have read on several occasions about the benefit of this practice, I never knew why, until now. Of course, I am going to share that philosophy with you as well. Today I talk about the Circadian Rhythm and how it is linked to your productivity and alertness throughout the day.

On the show we often talk about things in a very practical way. We discuss ways to become happier by adopting certain habits or thinking in ways that sparks joy in the brain.

I have to say that I have been pretty proud of myself for the last month or so. Even though I know how to eat healthy I would avail myself to lean cuisine and a variety of other low calorie dinner options at least 3 times a week. They were convenient and healthier than regular frozen entrees.
However, since researching for you guys and gals I have come to understand the absolute evil that is a frozen dinner. Simply put, these healthier options are still processed with a variety of chemicals, many of which create inflammation and disease.
Today I want to broaden your understanding of what processed foods are. In doing so I hope to help you eat healthier, safer options.
There are people who know peace and introspection profoundly. Gregg Krech is one of those people. He is the author of many books, one of which is The Art of Taking Action: Lessons from Japanese Psychology. Drawing on Eastern philosophy, Buddhism, Morita therapy, Naikan and Kaizen, Gregg offers an approach to ACTION that guides you to doing what is important for you to do in the time you have left.
He is equally well know as the founder of the ToDo Institute in Monkton Vermont. Here he helps people become aware of the true story of their lives, the one of gratitude and purpose. In his week long seminars, nestled in 100 acres of pristine conservation land, he demonstrates to students, how to disconnect from the distractions that keep them form understanding the difference between their true life story and the made up one they often bring with them to the hills of Vermont.
As the creator of 30,000 Days blog, he writes and espouses the simplicity and beauty in living fully in the moment.
