Forget about wasting away time thinking about the best movies or TV shows. Think about the great things you did.
Happy New Year my friends. I hope the new year finds you happy, healthy and of course, calm. As we embark on a new calendar it is going to be important to spend time reflecting on the past year and preparing for the next. This is best done alone, with your thoughts and no distractions. The problem is most people hate being alone with their thoughts. In fact, they hate being alone, period. Many people associate lonely with alone. These two concepts could not be further apart.
One is pain and mental/emotional anguish, while the other is an unparalleled sense of confidence and strength. Even thought there are misperceptions doesn't mean we can't all become better able to enjoy our alone time. Yours truly is going to make sure of it. Today I talk about finding ways to enjoy your alone time.

For some people the words loneliness and alone are synonymous. However, anyone who is totally comfortable with their alone time clearly knows there is a difference. With the surfeit of messages all around us to be part of a couple it is no wonder many people will resort to anything to avoid being alone.
But the difference between alone and lonely is much broader than that and accordingly the reason for this episode. Today I talk about the difference between alone and lonely. Should the new year bring times of loneliness you will have the right tools to cope with those feelings.

There truly is nothing you can't do. Even though you lack skill in some arenas doesn't mean you can't do it. It simply means it will take you longer. Today's question of the day talks to that premise.
There are some Universal truths and one of them is the understanding that we all have the same amount of hours in the day. The question of the day talks about that.
I want your year to be absolutely awesome. I want the majority of your time to be happy and productive, and of course if you plan things out and keep moving forward it will be a great year. However, it would be foolish to think that the entire year will unfold without a disappointment or perceived failure. That's just how life works. There are ups and downs.
Wouldn't it be great if you had a plan for getting through those tough times? It would, and there is. Today I talk about 6 ways to work through disappointment so that you are not caught unawares. While I am not a fan of the word "realist" ( what is real anyway?) it is important to be ready for any situation.

Many times in this world of social media we see everyone with glamorous lives, doing amazing things and wonder what it would be like to be them. Today's Question of the day speaks to that question.
In anticipation of the new year I have been talking a great deal about the more positive aspects of a new chapter in your life. However, your life will contain challenges in the upcoming year and what better way to work through them than to have a plan ahead of time.
As I have mentioned in several episodes and blog posts, positive thinking isn't the delusion that everything is perfect. it is the understanding that there will be tough times and in order to work through them is to see the light in each of them. It all comes down to perspective and that is what I want to fosuc on this week, including today. In anticipation of all times that await us in the new year I wanted to spend some time talking about persevering through tough times
