Zia Comics Nerdcast

The rest of the tour group landed in Dubai and wouldn't join be in Abu Dhabi until the next day. This meant I had a free day in Abu Dhabi to explore on my own. I tried to make the most of it and check out the locations that were not on the itinerary with the tour group. I highly recommend The Observation Deck at 300 in the Etihad Towers. The view of the city from up there is breath-taking.

This is the first video in a series of travel videos from my trip to the World Expo 2020 held in Dubai. It was originally scheduled for 2020, but was postponed due to COVID...hence the name. This video shows the first part of the trip, the 12.5 hour flight from JFK Airport in New York City to Abu Dhabi International Airport in Abu Dhabi.

This set was a freebie from Lego when you order a certain amount of product from them. If you have kids, you can toss them this set to keep them busy while you are building your own big boy set...or if you're like me build it yourself for a quick Lego fix.

The Comic Mystery Box promises you will "Open up a box of treasures... Get 15 collector's comics for $29.95 with free shipping! You'll get new issues, back issues, first issues and one-shots. All comics are first prints in new condition. No duplicates. Every box contains at least $60 worth of comics!

Comic Mystery Box is ideal for those new to comic collecting because you'll get an amazing selection of the best comics. Great for long-time collectors since every box includes first issues of recent new series worth reading. Order a box as a gift for anyone who likes comics. They'll love it!"

The 15 comics I received fell a little short of that $60 value. Going by current market value for each comic book in the mystery box, I came up with $55. I was on the generous side on a couple of those comics. I'm not upset I bought this mystery box, but I definitely wouldn't do it again. All the comics were in good shape. They were all first prints as well. There weren't any real great books in the box, but then again... they didn't say there would be. They were pretty close on the value of the books, so I will give them a pass there.

If you like receiving random comics or you are just starting out in comics, this mystery box might appeal to you. Serious collectors likely already have all those issues if they want them, so if this is you... find another comic book mystery box subscription.

Tiamat is one of the most iconic and well known creatures in Dungeons & Dragons lore. Not only has she appeared in multiple D&D books (and at least one cover) but she was one of the main villains in the 1980's Dungeons & Dragons TV cartoon series.

Tiamat is the mother of all Chromatic dragons. The Chromatic dragons were a type of dragon distinguished typically by a solid, non-reflective coloring of their scales. They were generally evil, greedy, and predatory. They worshipped Tiamat, whom they regarded as their queen. Gargantuan by definition is a character or a monster that stands 32 to 64 feet tall while weighing 16 to 125 tons. This miniature can be used in gameplay with your other Wizkids minis, but be warned. If Tiamat appears on your map it would probably be best to turn and run.

This statue is 14+ inches tall, 28+ inches wide, and 16+ inches from head to tail. It comes in four pieces: body, tail, left wing, and right wing. The assembled miniature is on the scale at just under 8 pounds. This miniature is not for the faint of heart as it hits the register at $399.

I really like the look and feel of this miniature/statue. The push joints could be a little better, especially at the price. If you're not worried about budget, you will be happy with this Tiamat Gargantuan model.
