Cadell is an anthropologist, philosopher and therapist focused on biocultural evolution, mind-matter relation and future speculations. He earned his PhD in interdisciplinary and complexity studies at the Evolution, Cognition and Complexity group at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel. Michael is a philosopher, poet, musician, songwriter, editor, and biodynamic farmer. He spent sixteen years as a Waldorf teacher and Master Teacher, and taught at the university and college level for over seventeen years. He began biodynamic farming in 1990 and currently raises dairy goats, bees, and other animals while managing a market garden with his wife and some of his nine children. His poetry and scholarship have appeared in many journals and he is the editor of Jesus the Imagination: A Journal of Spiritual Revolution.

Michael and I discuss sophiology, its roots in Christianity, biodynamic farming, and how to approach the dangers of Transhuamnist ideology.

I first heard Vinay on a podcast a few years ago speaking about enlightenment and saving the world with Bucky Fuller style innovation and inspiration. His approach seemed radically applied and pragmatic - with intense spiritual practice comes real moral responsibility. This is antithetical to a lot of the philosophically inept and castrated New Age thought we see today in the Spiritual Marketplace. What does it mean to take this work seriously?

This is (fortunately) a sprawling conversation. We start by discussing the prophetic nature of certain special science fiction authors, emotional processing in spiritual practice, empathy disorders, save-the-world psychology, uncanny valleys in tech, and how to make sense of our current moment as a bunch of confused monkeys.
