In Nehemiah Chapter Nine, we find a long prayer/sermon that details the history of Israel, and focuses upon their God Jehovah. In the first few verses, they lift up the name of God and praise Him for His greatness. All worship must begin with the greatness of God! There can be no worship without acknowledging how great He is and how feeble we are. Join us today for the conclusion of this sermon about the greatness of God.

As we have seen in our study of Nehemiah, Chapter Nine begins with the people of God continuing to worship God even after the conclusion of the Feast of Tabernacles. The Israelites who returned from the Captivity were hungry for the word of God, and the leaders – including Nehemiah and Ezra – gave it to them! Chapter Nine details a public worship service wherein the leaders of the people prayed to God in what is basically a long and detailed sermon. It traces the history of Israel, and emphasizes how great God is and how lowly man is. Join us today as we find the Jews in Jerusalem praising God for His greatness.

In today’s sermon, Elder John Morgan Owens takes us to the book of Romans to teach us about our adoption in Christ. We have been adopted by God the Father in His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. And because of our adoption, we are now heirs and joint heirs with Christ. Join us today for this encouraging sermon.

As we learned yesterday, God is a holy and righteous God, and yet He loves His children and purposes to save them eternally from their sins. How can this be? How can a perfectly holy God forgive sin, when all sin must be punished? In this powerful sermon by Elder John Morgan Owens, we see that there is only ONE WAY for God to be both just and the justifier of His children, and that is found in the person and work of the Lord Jesus Christ.

We know from Scripture that God is a holy and righteous God, Who hates iniquity and demands punishment for sin. And yet we also know that God loves His elect people, and purposes to save them from their sins. This appears to be a great contradiction, but there is no contradiction in the nature and purposes of the Godhead! In this sermon, Elder John Morgan Owens teaches us from Scripture how God can be both righteous and merciful at the same time.

As we began to see yesterday, the doctrine of “time” salvation is essential to our understanding of the word “saved” in the Bible. We began to the see the Bible foundation of this doctrine, and to learn how it helps in rightly dividing the word of God. Ultimately, a correct understanding of “time” versus “eternal” salvation will clear up much confusion in Scripture, and allow us to unlock Bible truth that will help us in our daily discipleship. Join us today as we continue our study of this important doctrine.

As we move into the Ninth Chapter of Romans, we see a distinct change in mood from the previous chapter. Paul goes from the mountaintop of eternal salvation and security to the valley of earthly sorrow over his Jewish countrymen who do not believe in Christ. Why is his heart so heavy? Is it because he is afraid that some of his fellow Jews are going to die and go to hell because they don’t believe? The answer is a resounding, “No!” The explanation lies in two important doctrines that are taught in Scripture: “eternal” versus “time” salvation. Join us today as we begin to explore these important doctrines, and learn why they are so essential in rightly dividing the word of God.

In the first half of this sermon, we began to look at some “things” in the Eighth Chapter of Romans that should bring us utmost comfort and joy in this life. These things are found in several phrases in the last few verses of Romans 8, and include “all things,” “these things,” “any thing,” and “no thing.” Join us today as we conclude this sermon about the peace we find in the eternal things God has done for us.

As we continue our study in Chapter 8 of Romans, we come to what could well be considered the climax of the book: verses 28 through 39. In these verses, we learn about the eternal things that God is doing for us, which always work for our good. In the passage we examine today, there are four sets of “things” that should bring us comfort, joy, and peace in this life. Join us as we begin looking at “all things,” “these things,” “any thing,” and “no thing.”

In our exposition of the Book of Romans, we have begun looking at the “all things” that work together for our good, as taught in Romans 8:28-30. These things are listed in verses 29 and 30, as follows: foreknowledge, predestination, calling, justification, and glorification. When we paused the message yesterday, we had already examined the foreknowledge of God, and were in the middle of learning about the doctrine of “predestination.” Today we continue looking at these wonderful doctrines, which are the heart of the gospel message, and learn that it is THIS message that needs to be preached from the pulpits today. The “good news” is that, because of “all these things” that work together for our good, all of God’s elect children will one day be in heaven with Him.
