In this sermon, Elder Kenneth Nowell takes us through this account, and reminds us that we have reason to rejoice in Christ just like Abraham.

As we began to see yesterday, the great hope of the child of God is NOT in the things of the world! Indeed, there is truly NO HOPE found in what we see around us. Rather, our hope is in the God of the universe, Who provided His own Son to be our substitute and Savior. Join us today for the conclusion of this message, which reminds us that our hope is a great hope that is an anchor of our souls.

As Jesus was making His way to the home of Jairus, whose little daughter was dying, the news came that she had passed away. “Don’t trouble the Master anymore,” they said; “It’s too late!” But what message did Jesus give to Jairus in that moment of his greatest need? It wasn’t, “Don’t grieve,” or “It’s not so bad, others have it worse than you.” The platitudes of the world don’t work in our moments of greatest trouble! Instead, the Master delivered to Jairus the only message that would help him in his hour of need: “Be not afraid, only believe.” This is the message that the Master gives us in our moment of need; join us as we look at this important reminder that we can trust Christ most in the times that life is most difficult.

But this is one of the most important qualities we can possess, especially when it comes to our faith in Christ! Join us as Elder John Morgan Owens preaches to us today about being steadfast in the faith.

Yesterday we learned about the Bible doctrines of “federal headship” and “original sin”, which simply teach that Adam represented all of his posterity in the Garden, and therefore his sin was imputed to all of humanity. Today we continue exploring these important theological concepts, and we learn the good news that there was a second Man Who served as a “federal head”: the Man Christ Jesus. Like Adam, Christ represented all of HIS children in His righteous life and substitutionary death. Join us as we once again revisit the good news of salvation by grace alone through the finished work of Christ!
