In our series on the Book of Romans, we have moved into the fourth chapter where we have been examining the concept of “justification by faith.” We have seen that it has to do not with our eternal salvation, but with our discipleship here and now. Today, we begin looking at the practice of being justified by faith in our walk with God in this life. Join us as we see what it really means to trust God, i.e., to be justified by faith.

In this final sermon in our series on Malachi, we are dealing with the final indictment God has against Judah. They were despising to render service to God, and therefore God is judging them. But Malachi leaves us with a clear and direct prophecy of the coming of the one who would be the precursor to the Messiah: John the Baptist, who would come in the spirit and power of Elijah! Join us today as we conclude our study of the book of Malachi.

As we come to the end of our series on Malachi, we see that the last charge Malachi has against Judah is that they are despising the service of God. There were some who were faithful, and gathered together regularly to worship God, but there seemed to be more and more people who were idolaters and evildoers who despised to render proper service to God. Join us as we look at this last chapter of the Book of Malachi.

As we saw in the first half of this sermon, the children of Israel in Malachi’s day were robbing God in the sense that they were not giving to the temple and ministry like they should. God certainly doesn’t need any of our “stuff,” since He owns everything in the universe! But our giving is an act of worship for the One Who has blessed us so abundantly! Join us as we continue looking at the principle of God-honoring giving.

As we continue our study of the book of Malachi, we find more problems with Judah in that day. We have already seen some of the issues, and today we begin looking at their failure to tithe like they should. Indeed, the people of Judah in Malachi’s day were robbing God’s storehouse by not giving properly. Join us as we begin to look at this important principle of giving.

As we saw in the first half of this sermon, John the Baptist was to be the messenger of the coming Messiah. His job was to “prepare the way” before Him. In the last half of this message, we focus upon the Messenger of the Covenant, who is the Lord Jesus Christ Himself. God’s Messiah – His Son Jesus – will come “suddenly” to His temple, and bring justice and judgment, along with mercy for His people. Join us as we continue looking at God’s final warning through Malachi before this Messenger of the Covenant comes.

In the sermon today, we continue looking at the first messenger that is prophesied by Malachi. As we have already seen, this messenger is John the Baptist, whose job it was to go before Jesus and prepare the way for His earthly appearance. John’s ministry was unique, and brief, but it was the most powerful ministry a preacher ever had! Join us for the first part of this sermon, which focuses upon the upcoming work of the one who was to pave the way for the Messiah.

In this sermon (which is a little shorter than normal due to sharing the time with another Elder), we begin looking at the final warning given by Malachi in his prophecy. He tells the nation of Judah about two messengers that will be sent by God. The first is the messenger of the Messiah, who will be sent to prepare the way of the Christ. Of course, this messenger is John the Baptist, and we begin the see some of the characteristics that his ministry will contain. The second Messenger is the Messenger of the Covenant, Who is Christ Himself. Join us today for this message that forecasts the first coming of Christ, and His messenger who will prepare His way.

As we began to see last time, the people of Judah in Malachi’s day were disrespecting God’s covenant of marriage. Not only were they marrying outside the Jewish people, but they were also putting away their spouses for ungodly reasons. Join us today as we continue looking at the covenant of marriage, and how God intends for it to be carried out.

As we continue our study of the Book of Malachi, we see more problems with the people of Judah in that day. Not only had they been committing sin in regard to their worship, they had been profaning God’s covenant of marriage. As we will see as we look at this, God hates divorce! His original plan for marriage was for one man and one woman to unite for a lifetime. Join us as we begin looking deeper into the sins of the land of Judah in Malachi’s day.
